Okay so this isn’t your regular neighborhood taqueria, these are self respecting young chefs who opened a restaurant they wanted to see in the world, and I love that. Their open kitchen was spotless clean! Probably the cleanest restaurant kitchen I ever seen. I also got a good glimpse of the back of the kitchen where they had a door wide open when I was walking back from the bathroom, it was also immaculately clean. The menu is quite fun with combo filling tacos they call “booming tacos” which all have kinda funny names, volcan tacos, large vegetarian menu section, chilaquiles and other breakfast options. It’s a refreshing menu to read. We tried the quesabirria, al pastor tacos and asada tacos. The consommé is complimentary to your quesabirria. I like the asada it was very well seasoned. Quesabirria are great, they are quite soaked in the consommé and very very messy to eat. Their restaurant slogan is “Don’t be afraid to get messy” so no surprise. Al pastor is not cooked on a vertical rotisserie, flavor wise it was okay. The whole restaurant is decorated with neon signs, all industrial style, it is fun and young. I was surprised that they didn’t offer alcohol because it feels like the place you would get your cheladas on. Overall this is a unique taqueria and a place I will always...
Read moreThe food is excellent but they sure do make it hard to order from them.
I tried the Quesabirria, Quesa Boom Especial, and chick taco, all of which were excellent. The first two items come with Consume, which was really elevated the experience, and I personally drank the rest after finishing the tacos because it's just that flavorful. I tend to judge any taco placed based on their chicken taco, the Taco Booms chicken taco was great -- the flavor/seasoning was delicious and the meat was perfectly moist.
The reason they only get 4 starts instead of 5 is how difficult it was to place an order with them. There is no ordering online, there is no ordering by phone, and good luck finding their menu online. To place an order, your only option is to do so at the restaurant itself, regardless of whether you're eating-in or taking-out. This is annoying for customer, and they're also leaving money on the table. I for one put off ordering from this new restaurant because I couldn't easily find their menu online and also couldn't place an order for take-out without going to the restaurant.
I'd like to see this brick-and-mortar location succeed, but I think they need to make themselves more discoverable and more accessible to their...
Read moreI work for a construction company, and we’re building a roof right around the corner from Taco Boom. We decided to treat the crew to some tacos for lunch because, let’s face it, we work hard, and we wanted great food to match. I stopped by and spoke with a very nice lady to pick up our order.
Now, I didn’t place the order myself, and the person who did forgot to include sodas for everyone. There was a slight miscommunication, and I ended up being charged for more sodas than we needed. No problem, though! The lady called the owner, who is an incredibly nice guy. He resolved the issue immediately, no hassle at all.
Every single one of my guys loved their tacos. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. I really appreciate how they handled the situation, and you can’t ask for better people or better food. I will definitely be back, and I 100% recommend Taco Boom to anyone looking for an authentic, friendly, and tasty taco experience.
Thank you, Taco Boom, for making our lunch...
