From the moment you step into Yeowoosai, you’re greeted by K-pop music videos and an electric atmosphere.
Yeowoosai’s kimchi fried rice is a symphony of flavors. The sizzle of the hot stone bowl, the fragrant garlic, and the umami-packed kimchi—all come together in a harmonious dance. The rice is perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of heat. But what truly steals the show is the corn cheese. Imagine gooey, melted cheese embracing sweet corn kernels—it’s comfort food elevated to an art form. Pair this dish with a cold beer, and you’re in for a treat! 🌶️🧀🌽
Samgyeopsal (Fried Sliced Pork Belly): The samgyeopsal at Yeowoosai is a revelation. Crispy on the edges, tender in the center, and kissed with sesame oil—it’s a carnivore’s dream. The accompanying scallion salad adds a refreshing crunch, balancing the richness of the pork. Whether you wrap it in lettuce leaves or enjoy it on its own, this dish is a must-try. 🥓🥗
Now, let’s talk libations. Yeowoosai’s mango soju is a tropical delight. Served in frosty glasses, it’s a blend of smooth soju and the sweetness of ripe mango. Sip it slowly, and you’ll feel like you’re on a beach in Jeju Island. 🥭🍹
The staff at Yeowoosai are super friendly, accommodating, and hot. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, they make you feel right at home. The portions are generous, meant for sharing with friends (or devouring solo if you’re feeling indulgent).
In summary, Yeowoosai isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a cultural experience. Come for the food, stay for the music, and leave with a satisfied belly and a...
Read more여우사이 is far north of my neck of the woods, I tend to stick near a Blue or Green Line, but after a late work day, I needed some bulgogi. This place had been on my list for quite a while, but previous attempts yielded no results due to troublemakers in the surrounding area.
You walk into a dimly lit bar and the feeling of nostalgia pumps through your body. They're playing K-Pop music over the loudspeakers and there are hints of marinated meat in the air. It felt like the first time I walked into Kuma's Corner, before they got Check, Please'd.
The staff are really friendly and do not bother you every 5 minutes. It's an easy "what can I get for you?" followed by your food coming out (fresh as heck, even though it's nearly midnight), with a check-up in the middle of the meal, and an "anything else?" when they notice you've stopped gorging out on the delicious Kimbap Tigem, Bulgogi, and Lapoki (tteokbokki with la myun in it).
I didn't expect any banchan, but they did bring out a side of kimchi. I do not drink, but my guest was able to order a Chum-charum Soju, which she soon realized she wasn't going to be able to finish alone. This is a place you'll want to go to with more than a few people, as the portions are made for sharing. Three dishes are enough for like 5-6 people.
...and after you're all Soju'ed up and nicely stuffed, there's karaoke right next...
Read moreI'm not really a fan of Korean food but my boyfriend is so he ordered everything. We ordered:
Kimmari Twigem (Seaweed eggrolls): These eggrolls had weird squishy/slimy stuff on the inside. You can definitely tell there's a seaweed taste. I LOVED the dipping sauce though. My boyfriend said it was unique and would order it again. When he does, I'll steal one but not more than that (probably)
Mandu Twigem (Fried vegetarian dumplings): This was my favorite appetizer. Way better than potstickers from Chinese (I realize they are two completely different cuisines) places. Also, once again, dipping sauce was fantastic. I ate the majority of these. My boyfriend wasn't a fan of the filling so that means more for me!!
Spicy Ramen (Ramen soup with Seafood): The noodles were DELICIOUS. I would eat this again if it was any other flavor than seafood. It's cheap seafood (hence the price) and tastes like it. Pork or vegetarian would be great!
Bulgogi: This was my favorite. It was a little sweet, a little savory, a little spicy, but incredibly oily. Like oil flowing out of the container oily.
Dwaeji Bulgogi (Spicy marinated pork): My boyfriend thought the spice level was perfect. I'm more of a wimp, but found the spice level tolerable. It was a little too spicy for me to eat, but it was so yummy...
