vegetable beef soup is good like Aunt Bernice’s. Breakfast special is really good and ideal for a quick lunch. The french fries are good, like bowling alley french fries. the grill cheese is good too. i enjoy for a nice weekday lunch. They know my name, i guess by seeing it on my debit card when i paid for my meal. they say my name now. that’s true hospitality. good quality diner food. pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff.

update: famous locals and city officials dine here. try to not be star struck. lol. try not to bother them while they eat. consistent quality diner food. the secret is the country fried steak, which is excellent. the wait staff is busy when dining room is full so be patient and speak up if you need something. i highly recommend the country fried steak with the gravy on the side. don’t cover the meat up. it’s so good. i wasn’t crazy about the mashed potatoes although everything else was very satisfying.

Food was good. Price reasonable. Sat. Morning and place was packed. Needs better system of greeting and seating customers in order of arrival. Take a number would be great. Customers arriving did not know how to be seated and everyone lined up outside the door and waited for table to open up using the honor system then you had to wait for the table to be bussed before anyone came to take your order. People who were seated when we got a table were still waiting while new customers just coming in were getting waited on and had their food. Several of us who arrived long before they did were still waiting to have table bussed and orders taken. Solution is simple and much more pleasant experience for workers and customers. What a hidden little gym if you haven’t had lunch here you should definitely try out their food. The chili I ordered was great. My BLT was delicious. My mom loved her country ham and her French toast. We had an exceptional lunch and the service was beyond incredible if you haven’t eaten here, I would just highly suggest it When I said hidden gem I meant it’s hidden a little bit. It’s in Jeffersonville. It is behind. Meijer and to the left there is a small shopping center that houses a lot of different restaurants, businesses, etc. and is on the corner. They do a great lunch hopefully one day they’ll have a dinner.
