Anyone that is under the impression that your donations are treated with any modicum of respect is wrong. I am clearing out a home after the death of my father. It is a mind boggling, gut wrenching task. I have taken donations to a variety of places where they were appreciated. I have also brought donations here, but I am done with this place. They don't have much storage so furniture sits in the rain before it is shipped to Indy. This time i brought a couple artificial Christmas trees and kitchen items. My dear friend Mike and I removed the ornaments my parents accumulated over a lifetime and put them in a box. This box was turned over and unceremoniously dumped into a huge cardboard box. I am not sure that any of the glass ornaments survived the crash. One Christmas tree was pulled apart, held together by a thread of lights, and dragged across the ground until it followed the ornaments into the pit. We were told that this box was going to Indy for people to root through and "they love it". To have my parents items treated like meaningless garbage was really distressing! Mike said that the guy could have waited until we pulled away before he threw the stuff away. Take your donations elsewhere if they mean anything...
Read moreTook my daughter and her friend here after a cheer competition. It was 40 min before closing and I needed to use their public restroom. The woman working there told me NO, those are closed. The door was unlocked, the store was open so I went and used the restroom. I could hear her outside the door telling another employee how I went in there and "that wasn't cool." After I came out, I asked for a manager and she stated she was. She asked for my name and I gave it her. I told her she was being very unprofessional to her patrons as the store is still open for another 40 minutes and they should not be telling customers they cannot use the public restroom. She proceeds to tell me it's their policy. Excuse me? It's your policy to close both your public restrooms before the store is closed? I used to work retail management and know very well that is untrue. Before that, she was literally SWEEPING under my feet as I shopped. I asked for her name and she said Stacy and refused to give me a last name. Just thought it strange she needed MY name and I don't even work there. Absolutely...
Read moreI had no plans of stopping at this location, as I had JUST THEN learned of its existence no more than 60 seconds prior to me walking inside.
Like with every Goodwill I visit, first thing I do is make a bee line straight for the pile of discarded PC monitors & assorted electronics. However, before I can make it over to the designated area across the store, something catches my eye and I did a double take. Upon confirmation, my brain repeatedly blue screens several times while my eyes go searching for any sign of a price tag.
After acquiring the help of two employees, they were able to locate the appropriate price tag for the bundle of speakers, subwoofer and a very good condition MiniDisc deck player!
Huge thanks to Caleb for bringing the entire thing out front to the trunk of my car. You didn’t need to do that, but in retrospect, I can only imagine the abundance of trouble I’d find myself in trying to unlock my car with a heavy stereo speaker/player bundle occupying any chance of me ever finding my keys lololol!
You have my gratitude, my...
