El Sombrero — Restaurant in Jeffersonville

So there I was trying to find my new favorite Mexican food place and the reviews screamed a 4.4 check out this place. Lemme tell you, 4.4 stars is not what I tasted in my mouth as I tried to scoop my mushy chips with water down ground beef on it.

Let's start with the chips salsa and our ordered queso. While the salsa was pretty bland and kinda just tasted like normal cheap salsa, the chips were home made decency. Not too salty not too bland. The queso though tasted like a bit of white cheese melted into a bucket of heavy cream and was literally curdling on our chips.

Waiting 45 mins for our food, out came my nachos. Ive got a bunch of nachos at a bunch of places and never have I felt like my chips were sitting in a layer of watered down soup from the water and grease draining off the beef. Instead of melted cheese they just poured the same sad excuse for queso onto it, slapped some lettuce, guacamole, and a dab of sour cream and called it nachos Supreme. The chips were so soggy and pathetic it was like eating fork fulls of mush that I got about two bites into and left hungry.

My sig other got enchiladas and it was basically a cheese queso soup with some tortilla and scraps of chicken in it somewhere.

100 percent do not recommend this place. The service was the highlight to where we almost felt bad that we were so dissapointed in the dog food...

Terrible customer service. As I was trying to order a pick up order. The man on the phone was very rude and impatient with taking my order. He kept cutting me off and wouldn't allow me to complete my sentence. Then I went to pick up my order, I stood there for 8 min. before someone even acknowledged me. They all kept looking at me but would only walk by me and would never say anything to me. So when someone FINALLY did, she never said "hello", "can I help you?" Or anything. As I was telling her my pick up order she grabbed the ticket and just handed it to me for the price. She wouldn't even tell me how much it was, her name was Maria. The man on the phone seemed to be the manager which makes sense. If management is rude then there is no...

My boyfriend and I aren't from here but decided to stop here for dinner. We were waved to come to the counter so we did. We looked at the menu we've never seen before as the waitress stood there staring, making us feel pressured. After we ordered we asked were we supposed to seat ourselves & if we would get chips and salsa. She acted surprised that we were eating in, which didn't make sense. And then said chips and salsa come with meals. Cool. So we sat, still watched them bag our chips and salsa. And while waiting I saw a server in back remove guac off of a plate that was sitting by the sink and place it on another. I don't know if this was his personal plate or not. There was enough poor service that we decided to leave. A VERY weird...
