I've always called this type of restaurant a "K-Pop cafe". I've seen a few places like this across the United States and this place does a really good job. What separates this restaurant from a more traditional Korean restaurant? The trendy atmosphere and emphasis on street food, along with the constant K-Pop on the television. Oh and the boba, you can't forget that.
As someone who is very fitness minded, (I am a bodybuilder) one wouldn't expect me to be at a place like this, however if you know what to order, most of it is extremely healthy and great for meeting your macros. A lot of this food is just rice and protein with veggies. You cannot go wrong with that. Hopefully one day I can come in on a cheat day and try the boba, but it definitely looks amazing!
I also do love some K-Pop from time to time, and trust, they play the good stuff. Yes, the target audience for a place like this would probably be Koreaboos, but if you're into eating healthy and maintaining an active lifestyle, this is a little secret in plain sight, and I think this place could become very popular with regular gym-goers if only they knew the magic within. So yeah, get those gains, listen to some K-Pop (come on you know that music is fun) and support a small business instead of going to Core-Life. It costs the same...
Read moreI got a beef bulgogi bowl, 3 for 10 Korean corn dogs, and a Korean fresh strawberry milk. There was also sides of fish cake, kimchi, and radish kimchi. This was my first time trying Korean food.
The beef bulgogi bowl was great. 👍🏾
My favorite Korean corn dog is the one filled entirely with cheese. There was one with a type of meat I’ve never tried before. It was okay. The other one was half cheese and half meat. The cheese is really good and stretchy. I loved that. The outer crust on each of them was phenomenal. The meat in 2 of the corn dogs didn’t have much taste to me. Probably just my taste buds and I wasn’t mad at it. I devoured all of the corn dogs.
The Korean fresh strawberry milk was spectacular. It was really refreshing.
The kimchi of both types I feel like is an acquired taste. It’s definitely spicy. Made my nose run. II was okay. There was also a side of fish cake. That actually went good with the beef bulgogi bowl.
All in all it...
Read moreI LOVE Korean food. It is one of my favorite things on the planet. Their kimchi is amazing and their tteokbokki is the best you can get in this little southern Indiana city, although I do wish it was spicier. Their bulgogi and kalbi were great, but a little heavy handed on the salt. It was somewhat salty for my tastes, and definitely saltier than any other galbi or bulgogi I’ve had. The galbi was pretty thin too, but regardless of all of that it was still tasty and I ate the entire thing! The radish kimchi was probably one of my favorite things, great flavor and just the right amount of spice. I’m so happy to see a place like this in Jeffersonville, Indiana. It’s not common to have authentic asian restaurants, let alone Korean, so this order brought me so much joy. Just please make your tteokbokki a...
