AVOID AT ALL COSTS $$$$!
Its getting harder and harder for decent, hard working, middle class folks to patronize local small businesses. (WHICH WE WANT TO DO)
This ice cream shop is a PERFECT example.
My wife and ordered 2 chocolate milkshakes and paid OVER $22. Both shakes had the consistency of chocolate milk with a greasy, oily film on top which hints to me a very low quality ice cream.
Ice Cream Boy, who is clearly on work release and family of the owners, was NOT happy to be there. Probably because his wages are being garnished.
High school Sally would clearly rather be doing anything else.
However, I did get a good laugh at a sign hanging inside stating " there will be a $10 extra charge for grumpy customers" Now I understand this is a joke and probably just a cute little thing most people laugh at. I found it ironic, and DID NOT get a $10 discount for grumpy #1 and grumpy #2 who served and rang me up.
1 gallon of Ice cream at Frys or Safeway is about $5. About $3 or $4 for a gallon of milk. Go there. Make it at home. It WILL BE BETTER. Couldn't be more disappointed. The owners should be ashamed but we all know that would never happen, its painfully obvious they don't GAS.
Do the town of Jerome a favor and...
Read moreBeen coming to Jerome regularly since moving to Arizona. So when my friend flew out for an extended weekend, it was decided we would try finding her the ultimate chocolate mint milkshake. This was the first place we tried. If you are uncomfortable in confined spaces, you'll be uncomfortable here and most stores in Jerome. Fortunately they had her flavor, out of the very few flavors they sold. After asking for the shake, I decided to look at the fudge. There's a large selection to choose from. It seemed extremely high priced, but I kept thinking its a fudge shop and its gonna blow my mind. So after he handed her shake, a small group of people walked in and I needed to step outside, cause I'm not a fan of tight spaces. So I asked to just ring up the shake and was completely baffled by what they handed her and what they charged. I'm no way a cheap person and I'm definitely not a rich one. I have no problem spending the money when something is actually worth it. But this place won't be getting money from me again. To each their own and this review is only my opinion. But being a local and coming to Jerome on a regular, you'll find that there's a few hidden gems in this town, and this isn't...
Read moreWe drove up from Phoenix. We had a wonderful time. We went in for some fudge. The two women behind the counter seemed pleasant enough. This was approximately 2002-03. When my friend and I asked for an assortment, we were informed that the fudge was sold by the half pound. neither of us quite got it right when that was stated. So, we once again asked for an assortment. The woman stated sternly, but politely, "No, we sell it by the half pound." Oh, no thank you. As we left the store, the two women saw two customers with money about to exit and very politely said, "Goodbye, come back again." Hmm, the employees were gracious and polite, but selling fudge by the half pound, we felt, was tantamount to selling plain donuts by the dozen. We left with nothing, and the store received no profit. Today, 8/24/15, I called to confirm: yes, they still sell fudge by the half pound. Once again, the employee was a very...
