I came here for Brunch with my family before flying out and I’m sad to say this was my last meal before I left. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because I enjoyed the appetiser which was the shrimp and bread. The sauce was very yummy. So, I was expecting my main meal to be just as amazing but I was extremely disappointed. I first ordered a Fried Shrimp Po Boy and it didn’t look appetising whatsoever, when I took a bite I was underwhelmed by the lack of flavour n care in making it. It just looked like it was rushed n dashed together. That made me sad. I decided to change my meal to the Vegan Dirty rice which had a concoction of vegetables in it and the menu specified that it was made with Louisiana spices however, it was the blandest meal I have ever tasted lol I’m laughing now but at the time I wanted to cry. Because the worse thing is ordering something that has no flavour. I was flabbergasted. And I’m not exaggerating. I actually couldn’t eat it. I asked my bestie to try it and she too had the same reaction. If I didn’t have the appetiser, I would’ve left the restaurant starving.
I gave 4 stars for service because although the main dishes I ordered were terrible, the waiter was accommodating.
But with that being said, I will not be returning. I give this an overall 2 stars. I spent money on food I didn’t eat, which is always...
Read moreMarina, the server, was kind and extremely knowledgeable. It was my first time at this restaurant, and I must say the 4.9 stars are 100% truthful.
In this area there aren't many 4.9-star restaurants so I had to try this one. This spot did not disappoint. It was delicious. I had their crabcake special over grits. I never had a dish like this before, but I have had grits, and wow, it was creamy, light so light it melted in your mouth. The crabcakes were flavorful (I like to taste my crab), but the New Orleans style was equally satisfying. The coleslaw --- delish! I also had their lightly spiced warm tiny (just enough for one person) corn cake. The butter was sweet enough and smooth.
Ohhhh and the banana cake. You have to try it.
The area is an upcoming location. The space has that rustic vibe. The tables and chairs are clean and so is the bathroom.
A great spot for colleagues, friends, or family.
5 stars for me!
Shout out to the Executive Chef Anthony. You clearly love what you...
Read moreWe shared the barbecue shrimp with cornbread as starter. There was plenty of shrimp for 2 and that sauce is delicious to soak up with the garlic bread that comes with it. The cornbread, which was complimentary, was just ok but the honey butter made up for it. For dinner I had the poboy. Shrimp again was delicious but the bread should have been toasted, my fault for not asking. Also the creole jambalaya, that was very tasty and wish I ordered that for myself. It only needed a bit of salt, for our liking, which was an easy fix. Then dessert I had beignet, delicious although the oil was a bit too heavy for me. It's similar to a zeppole or cruller. But the banana bread pudding was THE best and im really sorry I didn't get that. Only got 1 bite before it was all gone..I asked if it was good, the response "MMM SOOO GOOD", enough said. Service was above and beyond excellent!! Also we were fortunate enough to be there when they had a live band. Cant recommend this...
