A Disheartening Experience at Wing Bar â Unprofessional Service and Hostile Staff
As a seasoned reviewer with extensive experience evaluating eateries in Jersey City, I approached Wing Bar with anticipation, eager to explore a new local spot. Regrettably, my visit was marred by a series of unacceptable incidents that compel me to share this cautionary account.
Service Delays and Hostile Responses
Upon arrival, my girlfriend and I seated ourselves and waited patiently. Over the course of 30 minutes, we observed several patrons, who arrived after us, being served promptly. Feeling overlooked, we politely inquired about our order status. Instead of an apology or a reasonable explanation, one of the bartenders responded with hostility, loudly stating that they were short-staffed and that we needed to be patient. The tone was not only unprofessional but also embarrassing, and very aggressive especially in a public setting.
Hoping to salvage the evening, I stepped outside to collect myself. Upon returning, we continued to wait, only to witness more patrons being served ahead of us. When we raised our concerns again, the same bartender reacted with even greater hostility, making the situation increasingly uncomfortable.
Unprofessional Conduct
As we decided to leave, the bartender sarcastically shouted, âLooking forward to seeing you again,â a final display of unprofessionalism that underscored the eveningâs disappointments.
Conclusion
This experience was not only disappointing but also disheartening. A date night meant to be enjoyable turned into an evening of frustration and embarrassment. Itâs unfortunate when a venue with potential fails to deliver basic customer service.
I urge others to consider this experience when choosing a place to dine in Jersey City. There are many establishments that value and respect their patrons â sadly, Wing Bar did not demonstrate that...
Read moreYesterday around 6pm maybe, first time there and probably last. Service started out great, the gentleman was able to squeeze my buddy and I towards the end of the bar by the kitchen, even though they were pretty packed. The bartender and/or server said theyâd be right with us but another person was able to get us started with wings and a drink which was great. Fries were delayed, maybe because the person who grabbed the wings didnât know the fries were for us too. Eventually I was able to get someoneâs attention and ordered more wings, maybe 5mins later wings were done and the kitchen put them on the shelf and rang the bell. 5mins later another order was rang and put on the shelf, 10mins later 2 to go orders were rang and put on the shelf. Iâm watching my order sit on the shelf for 15mins and no one was serving the food. One employee didnât want to step away from making a big container of mix, and the two other employees behind the bar were walking back and forth. I noticed they all looked in the direction of the wings but ignored it. The one making the mix who was 3ft away from the wings went to the plastic wrap directly in front of the wings and grabbed the wrap, but left the wings. Even one of the kitchen staff was staring from behind the shelf, probably wondering why the food hasnât been taken. One employee eventually grabbed the to go orders and put them on top of a machine on the other side of the bar but left the 2 orders of wings. I eventually got my wings, still warm but not hot like they couldâve been. I wanted to try more wing flavors but didnât want to go through that again so closed our tab and left. Iâve worked in the food industry, I know what itâs like, and because of that Iâm usually more patient, but watching my food sitting and being ignored I lost my patience and will not...
Read moreIm in jersey city. Heard alot about this spot but everything isn't for everyone. I decided to go there 1 Sunday night. I gets there waitresses we're nice, its very dark in there and the place is not big at all, it's really only for take out definitely can't hold a crowd. I had to stand the whole 50 minutes I waited to get my food which was only a smash burger and onion rings. The seats at the bar were full people playing games, music loud, yelling, screaming etc. I finally gets my food which costs over $20, jaut for burger and rings. I get all the way home relaxed thinking I was gonna enjoy my meal, instead got disappointed. The burger was smashed I mean Pape thin smashed, it had 3 square pieces of onions on it, a drop of mustard and ketchup on it, good thing I asked for more ketchup. The edge of the burger was rock hard, crispy, sound and felt like I was chewing on jolly ranchers or something, the onion rings were so hard felt like I was bitting into a jaw breaker candy from way back. They hard so much bread couldn't taste the onion, I wanted to take it back so back but I had got comfortable. The rings came in a box which consists of only 6 and I think I paid $10 or more for them. That was my first and last time there. I hope they took a picture, cause it would be a cold day in hell before I...
