Best Seafood and Delivery experience.

I have my go-to’s at Hook & Reel Bayonne, and Just Beclaws JC. H&R is easily accessible, decent flavor, but falls through with freshness once or twice. JB always fresh, good flavor, inconvenient when driving.

Price wise, The High Seafood (THS) is comparable. Convenience with a car, unknown but given it’s near enough to Journal Square Path, don’t want to chance traffic and parking pains.

Delivery wise, phenomenal packaging. Crabs were lined up neatly, mussels neatly on top of the legs, baby clams on the bottom. I usually end up with a tray and the seafood thrown into a plastic bag for customer to pour out into the tray at home to eat out of. End up with some very oily hands. THS I ordered sauce on the side (in case I ordered too spicy- tried The Boil once and stupidly assumed their Fire level spicy would be like JB and H&R and I ended up washing the crabs off four times to be able to eat it slowly from the sheer burn of the spicy level) so maybe that’s why I didn’t need to wash hands, because I poured it out from a quart container.

And following that train of thought, the flavor of the sauce was phenomenal. Better than JB and H&R by far in my opinion. And I did not personally like the Boil’s sauce flavor, creamier/thicker consistency than I would like.

THS also gave me freebie fries and onion rings (?), and a free claw cracker. Super nice of them. I would love to try them in the restaurant at some point. If they’re this friendly and meticulous for a delivery, I imagine it’d be even...

My husband and I were so excited to find out they were opening a seafood broil spot in the area. They did not fail to disappoint! If you live in the JSQ/McGinley Sq. area you know how frustrating and annoying it is to find good takeout. There’s very little variety to choose from (pizza, fried chicken, chinese food and just plain old fast food) So this was such a great addition to the community. The place looks like a shabby Chinese food takeout place but don’t be fooled by the cover! My husband didn’t know about the infamous seafood broil bags before I told him about it and quickly convinced him to order us some. He loves seafood in general. And now he loves this place maybe even more than me lol! The customer service is always so warm and welcoming. They know us so well now that they’ll even do us the favor to bring us our food to our car when it’s ready or bring it to us right next door at the Dominican bodega as we wait for the our food to be ready without us ever even asking! I find that so sweet and professional like they know we’re always on the go and want our food to be nice and hot for us. We always get the crab legs with corn and potatoes with the special house sauce in mild and/or the shrimp fried rice. They’re not even that expensive. We love it here and hope you guys...

I really wanted to gatekeep this one 😂 but my first experience and Father’s Day experience were so phenomenal both times, it’s time I give this establishment credit. My dad and I randomly stopped by after a doctors appointment and were met with such hospitality. The girl there made sure my dad knew there were gloves in the bag and even tied his bib on for him herself cuz the man was already digging in 🤣 We couldn’t all link up due to schedules on Father’s Day but I thought I’d surprise my dad at home with a crab boil from here. I got a pound each of snow crab, black mussels and shrimp for $70. I was able to pick the spice level and the flavoring. We didn’t get to the food immediately but it was still hot 30 minutes later in the bag just marinating in that golden sauce. This ended up feeding 4-5 people and was a great alternative to shuffling to a crowded restaurant. I highly recommend this place!! Don’t forget to tip and keep local small businesses...

Pretty darn good seafood boil. It actually was a decent price for the large combo and the fried oyster basket with softshell crab po boy sandwich for $45ish only. It packed a nice spicy kick (spicier than other seafood boil resturants) and they used real garlic in the sauce. I loved their fried oyster basket and fries. Their soft shell crab could use a little more flavor and maybe press the bread to make it cooked and crispy, less mayo and more Sriracha, and vinegar for a nice kick. Maybe add Cole slaw instead of lettuce for the po boy sandwich...it was a little bland, but not bad. The boil also had a little too much msg and salt, as I started to become dizzy, lightheaded, and want to sleep immediately after. I can always tell when a restaurant uses msg, and I always stay away from that in my cooking. Maybe add more cajun seasoning, spice, and bay leaves, and less msg and it would be perfect! Other than that-really good resturant! Will be coming back again!
