Chef Nicholas St. Clair recognized a need for a special Mexican restaurant using all fresh ingredients and that is what he has delivered. as the atmosphere offers a true Southern California Mexican experience.is what he has delivered, This has been lacking in Atlanta for a long time. This is not your true run of the mill Mexican restaurant where you would order my number. Even though the menu is small all dishes are fresh and well executed. The restaurant is a great place to meet after work or share a meal with family or friends.Mavericks is classy with a well designed setting both casual and relaxed. I have eaten at Mavericks sereral times. All the entrees I have eaten have been perfectly prepared. My three grandchildren love the steak tacos and so do I. However, other entrees are equally as good like the pork belly torta which is cooked to perfection. Chef Nickolas over see's the restaurant in the preparation and delivery of delicious food, priced well and everything is fresh, made daily. I love the flavor of the meats cooked on the wood fired grill. If you are searching for an upscale Mexican dining experience at a reasonable expense, then you should explore this little gem right here in...
Read moreIt seems like they may have lost their way. One of the things we have liked in the past was how fresh everything was - one of the focuses of this restaurant. Today, literally, EVERY SONGLE ITEM we got tasted bland , bad, or not fresh. I wish I was speaking in exaggeration. The guacamole, per our server, was premade. It tasted like it had expired onions in it. My mahi taco was extremely fishy as was my wife's shrimp fajitas. My daughter's chicken tacos had as much tendon and gristle as meat, and my son said his chorizo tacos were heavy and lacked flavor. Even the Coke was bad - it tasted like it had 75% syrup. The beans had no salt and the rice had WAY too much lime. Even the house hot sauce lacked flavor. Sadly, we ate only about half of our meal because it was either bland or just plain not fresh. After spending $150, not only did none of us enjoy the meal, but now all four of us have stomach aches (hopefully not the guacamole). Sad experience and extremely unfortunate for a place that was really good...
Read moreSorry, you just lost us. We moved here 5 months ago, and this was our weekly eating out place at the start because it is 2 miles from our house. But we noticed that something changed a few months ago...many different servers...mistakes on several of our orders...having to ask for things or track our server down. Then this last visit we were told they no longer serve corn tacos. What taco place doesn't offer corn tacos? I'd highly recommend 1. Have each of your servers make a mandatory trip to Egg Harbor cafe because their service is impeccable and always consistent, and 2. The staff and management need to be more aware of food intolerances. Its a thing and any restaurant not offering options for that segment of the population is missing a huge part of the market. Egg Harbor and Burger 21 got the memo and that's why they are packed every day. And they're just down the...
