Let me start by saying that I have been eating at this place for years...since before the name change and when they were Sushi Mio. Prior to this evening, I have never had a negative experience here. My family of 4 have spent hundreds of dollars at this establishment. There have been times when I've taken my family, times when I have sat and eaten alone and times when I have gotten food for parties. I have even recommended others, and taken friends and family. Over the past few years, there was one main guy doing everything...taking orders, cooking and waiting on people. For a while, there was a nice lady helping out. Then, there was "what appeared to be" a "nice" older man (possibly the owner). My first time being waited on by this man was an okay experience... no issues.
Fast forward to tonight, I get there and was immediately seated. I had to wait a while, as the man was finishing up with a table for which the patrons were on their way out. As this is happening, a man walks in and is seated to a table next to me. When the guy finishes with the other table, he approaches the man and asks if he "wants the same thing." The man replied "yes," and the guy waiting on him goes over to the computer to put in his order... Never even acknowledges me, I let alone takes my order.
IT IS ONLY WHEN I GET UP TO WALK OUT THAT THE OLDER WAITER GUY ATTEMPTS TO STOP ME AND ASK IF HE CAN HELP ME. I can't help but to think that what happened had something to do with me being a black woman and the man next to me being an Indian man. Either way, this was NOT OK...this was an absolutely rude, insulting and disgusting thing to do!!
Went a couple of doors down to Papa's Dumpling and was pleasantly surprised! đ THEY will be getting my...
Read moreOrdered takeout from here recently. Parking wasn't too hard to find, though the lot is quite small and shared with many other restaurants in this corner, so it can get busy.
The food itself was pretty good - I had the Chicken Pad Thai, which was tasty, and the Calamari was okay. However, my experience was dampened by a significant concern. When I opened my Pad Thai at home, I immediately noticed that the aluminum foil wrapping it had a very strong fishy smell. To be clear, I ordered Chicken Pad Thai, and the food itself didn't smell fishy, just the foil packaging.
This was quite off-putting and makes me concerned about potential cross-contamination in the kitchen during the packaging process. It actually brought back memories of the previous restaurant in this exact location (Sushi Mio), where there seemed to be concerns about chefs not sanitizing properly between steps. I really hope this isn't the case here, but the fishy smell on packaging for a non-seafood dish is worrying.
While I enjoyed the Pad Thai, this hygiene concern prevents me from giving a higher rating. I hope management looks into their food handling procedures to ensure proper sanitation and prevent...
Read moreA cute, small, chill spot with amazing food and solid menu options. Four of us went and the place has cozy intimate vibe where the kitchen is across from where we sit. For starters, we had the crab rolls, gyoza (fried veggie dumplings), and chicken satay each one came with different sauces loved the peanut sauce, all were super tasty and felt really authentic.
For the main course, we went with the Massaman curry, which was packed with flavor, loaded with veggies, creamy sauce, and peanuts definitely the highlight. We also got the Thai fried rice which was loaded with veggies and chicken and Basil noodles which was juicy and the noodle has the right texture. Everything was on point and a must-try.
We finished off with the mango sticky rice, topped with a sweet sauce, touch of sesame and fresh mango. So good and authentic!
The portion sizes are just perfect. If youâre in Johns Creek, check this place out on Medlock Bridge Road. Totally worth it, we...
