Okayyy this place has been on my list for a minute. I recently visited Papa's Dumplings (weird name), and overall, it was a memorable experience. The atmosphere felt a bit cramped, especially since our table was right by the door, which let in a chill every time someone walked in. When enough people queued up, they were basically standing right next to us. Awkward. Once we settled in, the food made up for it.
I ordered the chicken dumplings, which were really good. Unfortunately, they ran out of the pork dumplings by 6:30 PM (guess it must be super popular), so I didn’t get to try those. I also had the gan jajang, and I have to say it was the best I’ve had in this area and right up there with Taste of China.
The counter service was efficient but not particularly friendly. However, the owner took the time to walk around and check on everyone, which added a nice personal touch to the experience. You gotta get your own food from the counter and bus your own table. Not really a problem, but you have to navigate your trays down a pretty packed corridor to the very back so don't let anyone with butter fingers do this part.
Plenty of parking so no worries there. It gets packed after 7 so consider yourself warned.
Despite some minor drawbacks, I would highly recommend Papa's Dumplings and plan to return often. If you’re in the mood for delicious dumplings and delicious authentic and fusion Taiwanese, Korean, and Chinese dishes, this place is...

My family of four walked in and all tables were full. When taking my order the cashier asked me for here or to go. I said to go because there didn’t appear to be any tables leaving soon. She handed me my pager and I went to stand outside.
The woman in line behind me was an Asian woman in a family of 5. She came out shortly after me and told her husband “they said we have to wait for a table if we want to eat inside.” About 10 minutes later they were able to snag a table. Another 15 minutes go by and another table becomes available and my family and I tried to sit there and the cashier told me “no you ordered to go” and proceeded to give the table to a another Asian family who had just walked in. We wait at least another 10 minutes and the family that came in directly after us receives all of their food at their table and we still had not received our to go order. We ordered similar items to that family so I don’t understand how the family that ordered well after us receives their food when we still are waiting for our to go order. All in all we waited over 35 mins for our food.
The food was good but of all my years of eating at different Asian restaurants across metro Atlanta my family and I have never been treated that way. I am writing this review in hopes that they read it and are mindful of how they treat ALL their customers. At the end of the day...
Read moreHands down the best food we’ve had in a while! So happy we decided to try out Papa’s dumplings everything we ordered was amazing. Best part was the man (owner?) at the counter who greeted us and took our order, he was so welcoming and reassuring and made our experience so much better. Food took less than 10 minutes to come out but presentation and taste is better than most restaurants out there! Prices were amazing as well.
The food we ordered: Sweet and sour pork ($18) - so crispy and delicious especially paired with the tangy sauce Beef noodle soup ($14) - best noodle soup we’ve tried and so comforting and the beef was so tender and paired perfectly with the chewy noodles Jjajangmyun ($10) - noodles were so on point and the sauce was amazing! one of the best of the variations we’ve had Pan fried pork dumplings ($12) - the filling was amazing, was a bit doughy but didn’t take away from the overall dish! so good with the sauce Taiwanese popcorn chicken ($8) - so so good and crispy, doesn’t even need to be paired with anything just so good! might be a bit better with some basil
Overall, food was amazing and service was above and beyond. It is mainly a self service place to let you all know which we personally like. There’s something for everyone! We’ll be back...
