We recently tried this place because we were craving pho on a super cold and rainy night. We had driven by Le Mekong several times and it was always busy, so we figured it must be good! For appetizers, we got the calamari and shrimp spring rolls. The calamari was fine, I’m not a huge calamari person and I can’t really tell the difference between good and bad calamari. It all tastes the same to me! The springs rolls were very good though! They are HUGE and tasted super fresh. Their peanut sauce also tasted super fresh and homemade. We got 4 big spring rolls with the order which is great, cause usually it’s two small rolls. We both got pho with spicy broth, which I’ve never seen before! We love spicy things so it was nice to have this as an option. We both got meat pho and it was absolutely delicious! The portions are HUGE! The bowl is absolutely massive. I loved the noodles, they were super thin rice noodles which is my favorite. The broth was hot and super flavorful! We had a super good experience here and I would definitely go back for their pho!!

Le Mekong used to a more upscale restaurant that used to have a water-curtain like waterfall in the middle of the restaurant. That has since been removed perhaps to add more seats. This change has brought down the ambience and is now more plain. The food is very good. The Tom Yum soup came in a large bowl with fresh veggies and that itself could be a meal. I always get claypot with chicken and this has never failed me appreciating this restaurant for the food. The service is not bad, nothing to write home about though. The servers are quite busy, quick on their feet but take on multi roles. When you see the person serving food comes back with a noisy roller cart to clear the tables and then back again serving food, it raises a small concern. Overall this still a nice place that I would go back to again.

It seems the restaurant got through new renovation, internal decor looks different. The new menu shows price hike as well. I still choose my favorite Pho Noodles: Pho Beef Combination, add $2 for large size. We also ordered shrimp spring rolls, Claypot Fish and Pho Beef. The huge bowl contains plenty of beef soup, it tasted good with raw bean sprouts and basil leaves, rice noodles were pretty normal, beef as well, I didn't like the sausage part. The claypot was too small size for the rice; spring rolls were fresh and healthy.

Le-Mekong has great pho. Food is pretty great, if you are just looking to get some good pho with not so great customer service. I live about 15 minutes away from the area. My family and I have been going for the past 5 years. Le Mekong used to have really good customer service. If you ask for extra bean sprouts or more water, they used to assist with that very nicely like any other restaurants. For the past year or so, they have become extremely rude. Many of the waitresses/waiters and owners know our faces. However, now they are cold and rude to us.

For example, my mom went in to pick up pho (we ordered it via phone). She asked if we could get some jalapeños since it usually comes with pho and we like it so much. The waitress rolled her eyes (we've known her for couple months and left her great tips before) and said "why can't you just eat what we gave you? can't you see we are busy?" and went back to grab us 3 pieces of sliced jalapeños. The owner was standing right next to her but didn't say anything. My mom came back to the house mortified and was confused.

My brother also went in to get his to-go order. Two older waiters sat in the back booth and stared at him. My brother sat down near the front door waiting for the food he ordered 20 minutes. ago. It wasn't until a waitress walked in the restaurant and asked him what he was waiting for that they gave him his food. The food is usually by the counter when we to-go it, so we were waiting for it. He went around 3PM on Tuesday and he said there were 2 tables with customers, so it wasn't like it was super busy.

We just wish they would be little bit kinder, like they used to be. I get it's easy for you to lose sight of what's important (customer service) when you get popular, but we were one of the original customers who spread good word about the food to our friends and neighbors. Truly wish they would work on customer service a little bit. Most of the workers are still...

To keep it simple and let the viewers be the judges.

The first time I visited the restaurant with 5 other co-workers for lunch, we all got food born illness from the food and several of us have different dishes. Since then, none of us ever go back to Le Mekong.

Couple of weeks ago, different co-workers wanted to go to Le Mekong and I wanted to give it a try again but never informed others about the food poisoning from the last time I was there.

This time around, I did not get food born illness, which it is a good thing, but the management attitude is terrible. I understand it is lunch time and it is busy, one, I should not have to try to flag down a server after 15 minutes. Any one should have stopped by to let us know that he/she is the server and he/she will be right with us.

Two, I flagged down the manager for the restaurant and asked for the server for our table of 7, since we only have 45 minutes left for lunch. Again, it is not the problem of being busy and we picked the same time as everyone else having their lunch during the same time, which we are partially to be blamed.

But the issue is with the attitude, the manager stated to our group that " JUST HOLD ON, WE ARE VERY BUSY", all caps is because that was his voice.

A simple comment about getting a server for our table would be sufficient. But of course an apology for not being able to have a server after 15 minutes due to rush hour, would be over and above as a business establishment.

But, having an attitude back to our group because the establishment does not aware that lunch time is crowded and it should have sufficient staffs to handle the tables due to business is doing well, is not acceptable attitude. If you can't handle the heat, get off...

Le Mekong has gone downhill in the past year and we won't be going anymore.

We've been regulars for the past 4-5 years and they were previously a very reliable spot. Things have definitely changed for the worse. The last three visits have convinced us they either changed management, cooks, or suppliers. First, I always get the large combo pho. The taste is still the same, but their portions have decreased - esp. the tendon and tripe. Second, the last two times we ordered their shaking beef, it tasted spoiled. We NEVER send food back, but this was a first for us. We sent it back for tasting straight-up spoiled. No apology no nothing. They remade the dish, and it was definitely better, but it still tasted borderline. Lastly, their house fried rice wasn't seasoned the same (lacked flavor) and didn't have pineapples like they usually do.

I'm still giving them two stars for the service overall (usually pretty good) and the ambiance (usually pretty clean). Also, probably not their fault, but the last time I squeezed Sriracha into my pho, the cap completely came off into my pho (yuck). It was probably someone pranking customers. I'd like to think it wasn't the staff.

Anyway, I hope they get their act together. I'm sad to lose a regular spot.

Update. Seems like all their management responses are AI-generated. Just simply acknowledging shortcomings without any explanations and with placeholders (e.g., [email/phone number here]) for contact info. Reducing another star for not even making the effort to reply properly or take customer...
