Uptown Cafe — Restaurant in Johns Creek

So today was another interesting experience in this restaurant! To be true to my comments, I don't post often for the good stuff because they are obviously doing their job and that seems to make the situation ok. We eat out a LOT so my standards are high but my reviews are to express the experience in full. I waited tables for many years in starting in HS AND through college and I loved every minute of it. I made excellent money because i took care of my customers. I don’t often take the time to praise because tips do that. Well, that also goes both ways but i think telling the bad helps correct the shortfall! So onto the review...

This place is a cute place that I have given many many opportunities to. We have had great food, and marginal service at best but after today we obviously won't be going back. FYI: I find Luke to be wonderful and Reggie to be horrible and I’ve shared this across the platforms (crickets). The others are a hit or miss. The owner is a complete coward and full of himself. Feels he and his staff does no wrong and waste valuable time telling you how good he is and how the food conventions he has trained him to be restaurant certified. If you do speak to him be prepared for this run on as ego takes over. Today I was told that they were loosing too much money on us. This (after another) experience earlier this week when I let them know -at the end of my meal there was a black hair stuck to the plate. I did NOT say anything to anyone to get it free (which wouldn't happen anyway) I had eaten every bite and simply wanted him to know. I literally didn't even see it until I was done. However based on he reviews of his accounting. Firm "Decker and associates" 2-1star reviews, you can surely see his restaurant doesn’t run much better. Again I find him cowardly at best. HE left his server to tell me and didn't even have the professionalism to reach out to me directly! I loath a coward and someone who dismisses their staff is nothings!!!!!

I'd urge you to think twice before you step inside but should you choose to make sure you're prepared for the worst and then whatever above that...

I like 2 items on the menu. Those 2 items- I like very much. My friends force me to return here because we all have young kids, its nice to escape the noise since this place is frequently empty n there's only 1 loud person in this place. There is 1 employee who makes this place miserable to tolerate. She's always talking loudly on her phone up front & in the kitchen (yes, we know she's hard of hearing, but go in an office, outside, or your car- we all hear everything: her family visits, family gossip, her sick friends, the inventory n food order conversations r even LOUDER). Then she's rude: that fake-south-polite (says she'll get you your request then does it incorrectly IF at all. There's rarely any1 here, there's no reason for her to not get us butter or UTENSILS, she burns the toast, she won't bring drinks unless asked repeatedly or you stand at the kitchen and ask someone else, and other times she brings the wrong ones-charging for the wrong drinks on your bill- so u need stay mindful. I will request another server's sections like ♥️ Natalia♥️ then get seated in this old lady's own section anyway. I've gotten to the point that when she doesn't respect my request I re-seat myself or just leave. I refuse to tip nor tolerate her! Shes rude, sloppy, condescending... she must b a manager or partial owner cuz idk why any employer wud keep her unless it's family, blackmail, or fulfilling a deathbed promise to help mom's best friend in her twilight years. I LOVE Natalia ❤️ Natalia is the reason I agree return weekly. She's wonderful. She's kind. She's gracious. She's personable. Thank u 4 ur time... forgive my negativity. But, I've been feeling this way for 2 1/2 years. I promise u don't have more patrons cuz of that 1 negative waitress....

Typical of what lots of people enjoy when it comes to comfort food and a cafe diner. Unfortunately it was disappointing. I originally did a Google search for soup, maybe Google needs to improve this feature, and ordered the turkey bisque soup. It came out lukewarm. Then I had questions about the menu and was hoping to get those answered before finishing my soup, but if i didn't scarf it down I would be eating it cold. By the time the waitress came around, there was only me and one other table, I was ready to move on to the next thing, a veggie quesadilla. That can't be messed up right? Well the veggies were still crisp and it again was just warm. That made me realize they were rushing the food out. If I wanted rush, I would have just went to Del Taco and spent half has much $.
