This is the absolute best location. I was not a fan of sandwiches, because of the other sandwich shops and the quality of meat that they offered. For years, my fiancé always asked for gift cards for Firehouse. One day, I gave Firehouse a chance. We went to the 3005 Old Alabama Road, suite 6001, Johns Creek, GA 30022. We walked in, everything was clean, it smelled wonderful, and we were greeted with smiles. I ordered the Italian. I was ready to take certain things off because most places have fatty and cheap meat. When we got it, my order was perfect, the weight of it was heavy, and it looked amazing. This was the best quality meat and ingredients, not one thing was removed. (This is a huge compliment because I usually remove at least one thing.) This was the absolute best sandwich, the best meal that I have had in years. We do not usually eat fast food. This was so wonderful, that we started eating Firehouse more often. I then chose to go to the location, off Holcomb Bridge Road, because we live closer. This location was dirty, with sticky surfaces. The only employees were teenagers or young adults, with no supervision. They were talking amongst themselves and very rude to the customers. When customers asked for something, they had an attitude and did not seem apologetic. I gave this location another chance, because sometimes people have a bad day. The next time, I ordered and had a better experience, because the owner was there, and I gave a compliment. Then I ordered online. I sat outside of the location, watching the young employees play around. They did not know that I had watched them playing around. When I walked in, they asked what I wanted, and I let them know that I already called it in. They said, “Oh, we are getting that now.” They had not even noticed my order, that I placed 30 minutes earlier. The bread was old, the meat was so wet, that my bread was sopping wet on the bottom. It was slopped together, like they were in a hurry. It was the lightest sandwich that I had ever bought. It had more bread than meat or vegetables. My mom went to this location and had the same experience, with her order being made wrong. She was even told that she would not be able to get the free drink that came with creating an account with Firehouse, yet it was taken off her account. We decided to drive, out of the way, to go back to our original location. And just like before, our experience was amazing. The staff greeted us with smiles. It was clean. It smelled amazing. The staff seemed happy to be there, like they liked their jobs. The Manager Cassandra was there, and she was so outgoing and friendly. The staff were working hard, not standing around. They seemed like they enjoyed working there. It is amazing how a staff, that is lead by strong and positive leaders, will follow in their footsteps. And again, a heavy sandwich, handcrafted, and made with care. This sandwich was even better if that is even possible. Kenautica was talking with us and had an amazing attitude. Matthew and Charlie were there, working hard, with smiles as well. This is our location and we encourage everyone to drive past their local Firehouse and go to the Old Alabama Road Firehouse! Thank you, all. You...
Read moreNot sure why I keep trying to patronize this location. I've had pretty consistent sub-par customer experiences over the last several years. Some decent service, but way too many bad ones.
I tried to visit on Sunday July 16, 2023 between 8:30-9pm. I even tried to call to place my order since I knew they closed at 9pm. Called 3x around 8:35-8:40pm, no answer. I arrived around 8:45pm and they were closed. I saw maybe 3 employees inside but the open light was turned off and the door was locked.
Visited today, Sunday July 23, 2023 around 8:25pm and the open light was off, but the door was not locked. I walked in and saw 2 employees, 1 was sweeping and the other appeared to be making sandwiches. Neither spoke or really acknowledged me as I entered. Once I picked out my chips and went to the register, the guy making sandwiches did tell me he would be with me in a moment, at least I think that's what he said. After about a minute, the guy sweeping came to the register to take my order. I had to repeat it a few times.
When I got my receipt, I noticed that the items were not correct. I ordered 3 meatball subs, all with light Italian seasoning. The receipt said light marinara. I stepped to the counter to ask the gentleman making the sandwiches to please include the regular amount of marinara, but that it was supposed to be light Italian, not light marinara. The other employee who took my order and good resumed sweeping, repeated "yeah light marinara" and I said no that's not correct, it's just light Italian. Frustrating to say the least. Maybe if they both took the air pods out of their ears they would reduce the need for a customer to repeat orders.
When my order was ready, the guy who made them put them on the counter and told me they were ready. I asked if he included pickles (last time we got no pickles) and his response was "mmhmm". Dude. How rude. Open your mouth and speak to your customers.
Not sure what is going on at this location, but I'll likely pass it by for other options in the future. The food is good, but I certainly don't feel appreciated or that I'm receiving the basic level of customer service. Y'all need...
Read moreThank God DJ is no longer the owner — he was terrible. (My son actually worked here a few years ago.) I’m also glad Alex is gone too. But the sad part is that Javonn is gone — and that’s what really hurts. He was truly the life of this place — the reason my son even got hired, and honestly the reason the store stayed afloat since October. Javonn made everyone feel welcome and created a family atmosphere that kept us coming back.
I usually don’t leave reviews, but after a few visits I had to say something. When I came back in town and heard there was a new owner, I was excited — we were looking forward to another season of basketball lunches and our Sunday meetups at Firehouse Subs. But without Javonn, it just isn’t the same. Unfortunately, the place doesn’t work for my family anymore, and we won’t be coming like we used to, or ordering team lunches here.
But, I wish the new owners well, but they’ve lost what made this location special to us, and I know a couple more families.
Message for Javonn:
Hey Javonn, haven’t run into you at Whole Foods so I’m leaving you a message here. Thank you for everything — you were the heart of that place and the reason we kept coming back. You made my son feel welcome and gave him an opportunity. It’s not the same without you, but we appreciate you! Wishing you nothing but success in whatever you do next — any place that has you will be blessed.👍🏽 good...
