Extremely disappointing! My boyfriend and I were on a road trip passing through the area and we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. We saw that Mauries table was close and seem to have more good reviews than bad ones. We gave it a shot. We got there and immediately sat down as it was seat yourself and our waitress was quick with our drinks. It was all downhill from there. We put in an order for the appetizer of the jalapeno poppers those came out in due time but there was only about 6 poppers in the basket for $7.99. Definitely not worth the price for what it was listed as. Although they were tasty. We put in the order for our medium deep dish pizza after that. The place was not very busy as it was a Wednesday night. And more people left as we continued our stay. We did not receive our pizza until an hour later. And our waitress only checked up on us one time after we received our drinks refills. To which she then got on her phone and began folding silverware as we waited wondering why our pizza was taking an hour to finish while there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant at this point. We finally received it and it was not very good at all. It was extremely greasy, way too much cheese, and the crust reminded me of cheap oven baked pizza we could get for $5 at a store. We decided to be done eating and leave. She offered to boxcar Pizza up for us which we agreed even though we didn't really want to take it home. She came back with it wrapped in only tinfoil. The pizza was very hot so as the tin foil pizza was very uncomfortable to hold. After we paid and left my boyfriend threw the pizza away and we made a mental note to never go back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNothing this evening. After 25 min had to ask for a server. She proceeded to forget the waters. Brought drinks with a half* smile. We were cheerful, polite, and thankful all the while. 1.5 hours later, no pizza, she said they messed up and "scraped" the Za. Lie, as we all know, or they could not complete the one thing the cooks were there to do, correctly, make a pizza. The waitress brought a bill, we were not happy, after we gave them a little **, she brought back a larger bill!! This audacity obviously upset us more and went back to manager. Someone in our group, a respectful mother/grandmother speaking to manager said to him, this just isn't right, and the manager physically pushed our members arms down. This sent other members in our group defensive and confused as to why they could not apologize and simply compensate for our family's severely spolied evening. Why were we made to feel like we did something wrong? In all my 4 years serving, covering the bill no matter what is on it for forgetting your order, is the LEAST, a manager should do if they have a soul. It was a small bill, and you have a small heart Mr Maurie, which I am sure is similar the type of lifeless, selfish, journey you live. I highly recommend not going to this cherry-picking, unhealthy, filthy, dirty-glasses and silverware, b.o. smelling manager, underage alcohol-serving dive. Enjoy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was told the pizza here was a must try. I like to hear from others about places I may not tend to try on my own, so at least I have an idea what to try once I get there. I finally got a chance to get here, and decided on trying the deep dish pizza. I got the sausage and pepperoni with extra sauce. First look and it's not your normal deep dish. The sides of the crust aren't built high, he sauce isn't on top, it gave more pan than do dish. However, that is neither here nor there, because that same crust gave a while different thinking to deep dish crust. From the first bite, it's not overly hard as you would imagine a deep dish having to be to support the toppings. Instead your greeted with a soft almost bread stick pull of crust that caught me off guard. I expected a crunch and was met with softness that was interesting but fit the pizza. The sauce was a great tomato bed for the rest of the toppings to reside on. The cheese pull was nice, with no feeling it was undone. The sausage and pepperoni definitely felt and tasted great with the right spice blend. Then once you make it to the outer rim of the crust, you get introduced to that crunch of a deep dish you expect. Definitely will come back to try...
