Great food!🍔🥔🍽👍💯✔
Came here because of an infamous YouTube video that goes something like this: (The famous jingle that killed off it's franchise!..?).👀
So I googled it and noticed there was one in Illinois, more specifically in Joliet, Illinois. So while on my way back from Chicago driving on I-80 south; I decided to quickly stop by this place. Funny enough I've actually past by this place a couple of times before because my sister used to live in Joliet back before 2018.
Back then I've never really paid to much attention as I always thought was just another Arbys rip-off. But now that I've dined inside and ate one of their meals, (I had a BBC meal and a pot roast sandwich), I actually enjoyed the food.
This place kinda reminds me of another midwest local franchise called: Beef-A-Roo (that may eventually go "big" as in nationally) from Rockford, Illinois.
I got to admit 'Rax: Roast Beef' has a lot of similarities to Beef-A-Roo (rip-off??, maybe)🤷♂️ 🤔
Who knows, either way I would recommend 'Rax:...
Read moreFirst time trying this place out. We went through drive thru. I started to order a beef sandwich but wasn't in the mood for bread. So I opted for fries and a cream of broccoli soup. The fries came up hot and fresh. The cream of broccoli soup, although hot was not tasty at all. It was garlicky but not like a natural garlic taste but an artificial one. And the cream looked translucent white. This had to come straight from a can. I should've known it would be. So I threw it out and couldn't eat it. Another thing, in drive thru you can see that the inside is outdated and needs a major remodel and cleaning. The ceiling vents behind the counter were cake in black dirt. I'm not sure if they have been inspected by the health department but if that is how the front area, which is visible to guests looks, I can only imagine how the kitchen looks. I really was planning to go back to try their sandwiches when I had an appetite for bread but I don't think I will after seeing what I saw through the drive...

A more delicious Arby’s, but stuck in the 90’s.
I had completely forgotten about this place since the one near me shut down while I was a kid. But then a friend mentioned one when I discussed going to Joliet. Man, talk about a trip down memory lane.
I don’t remember much about Rax from being a kid. But the interior was exactly the same. At least the one I was at hadn’t been updated since it probably first opened. So that was a bit of a blast from the past as memories went from non-existent to somewhat blurry.
On to the food. I don’t quite remember what I ordered, but I do remember getting the BBC… and loving every single bite. I actually debated going back up and ordering more as it was that good. I even debated getting it the next day, too!
Had the interior been a bit more updated, it would’ve gotten a solid 5, but it’s hardly a distraction when you have delicious food to devour! As rare as Rax may seem these days, if you happen upon one…...
