TL;DR: Great food, iconic rock songs, and the sushi very good.
We waited a few days after they opened to avoid some of the training mishaps. Seemed like our server had most of it down.
We started off with A guitar 🎸 of sushi 🍣 (yes, you read that correctly). It's 6 rolls served on a guitar shaped plate. It was plenty for 2 people. We specifically had the "Hot Tracks" guitar which is all cooked. Out of those, the VIP Experience (baked lobster) and the mango rolls were the best. But they all were worth ordering.
I additionally got a special called "Sweet Mango Mine" (if it wasn't obvious, there's a theme to it). This was by far my favorite and you're going to regret missing out on it if you don't head over while they still have it (limited time and uncooked).
My daughter ordered a kid's teriyaki hibachi chicken that came with fried rice. She's not a sushi eater, but she devours hibachi.
To finish the night we had a friend brownie and ice cream desert. I wish I remembered it's official name. But it was easier to eat than I expected after eating the better part of 4 rolls.
The decor is on point. Amps, guitars, mics, litter the walls with a 'back stage" atmosphere. The music is loud enough to enjoy, but not so much that you can't hear people talking one table over (I'd have appreciated turning it up). There's even a TV and well volumes speakers in the bathroom.
Seriously worth visiting and a strong contender for best sushi...
Read moreMy friend and I went to try their ramen since our favorite place is closing. Big mistake! We had the jalapeño poppers for an appetizer which were good, but then waited over an hour for our ramen, which was barely even lukewarm. The dumplings we added to the ramen were cold in the middle. The marinated egg was so unbelievably salty. I had ordered an extra egg because it’s my favorite part and couldn’t eat it after trying the half it comes with. The ramen itself was so salty. The noodles were cooked great so it was so disappointing. After about three or four bites I couldn’t eat it anymore. We got asked if we needed to go boxes and we said no and that unfortunately it was too salty to eat. We got charged full price. We tipped and then left. Service was fine but the ramen,...
Read moreSo to start, this isn’t my first rock n roll sushi to visit. The others were much better all the way around. I know this one has just opened, but if they weren’t prepared, don’t open yet. It seemed like out of the 7 or 8 wait staff there, only one knew what they were doing, let alone what drinks they had. I looked at the menu, it stated coke products and ask your server. I tried tea, it was a mistake. Tried the vip and sweet home Alabama rolls. Sweet home Alabama was ok, nothing to make it stand out. The vip sounded awesome on paper, but the crab and mud bugs was a let down. Whatever seasoning is on the crab made it overpowering. My waiter was polite, they couldn’t provide refills because the machine broke…? That’s all he could really say. All in all it was $40 for two rolls...
