Yuck! My first word that comes to mind when I remember my last visit to Five Guys Burgers and Fries. My family of 3 went there last Friday (April 11, 2014), which must have been a busy night for this restaurant. Anyways, when I first went inside the restaurant, I got the feeling this is a teenage burger joint. The atmosphere reminded me of my high school days in the cafeteria, loud and too many people. Doesn't help that the tables are close together and everyone can watch you eat! The order took too long to arrive and when my family did get our food, the fries were too hot and much too salt! My 5 year old had to wait about 10 minutes before he could take one bite of his fries. There is a thing of being too hot to eat! The excess salt made the fries soggy which was gross to eat after they finally did cool down. My hamburger was so messy because one of the workers had to put about 1/2 cup of mayo on my burger and about 1/4 cup of onions which made the bread just gooey and hard to grasp and eat. I had to use at least 10 napkins to keep my hands clean while eating my hamburger. This hamburger was nothing special. I think my hamburgers taste much better! The soda was good. I will give them that, but the price for the drinks, a whooping $1.89? Too expensive, even my son was charged for his water. No healthy kid choices, which automatically gives me a negative view of this establishment. This restaurant is a heartbeat away from giving people a heart attack. When my family was finished, we went to our car which was parked in the back. Not a good choice because we saw the manager and 3 of his employees smoking cigarettes. Gross! One of the employees was smoking 2 cigarettes together. How sick! Makes you wonder if they wash their hands good enough. No respect! I will not be visiting this...
Read moreI don't know what it is about this company's standards or training, but they really need to take some notes from, I don't know, Chick-fil-A! They have good food but every location I've been to (including this one) has completely disinterested staff. At this particular location the employee hardly made eye contact. She didn't speak except to say the total, didn't read back the order, and just made us feel as if we were annoying her by being there. I had to remind them to make my daughter's shake because they got too busy standing in the middle of the kitchen talking about other employees. I almost never complain about service, but for how much they charge, they should really be able to afford customer service training for their staff. A smile and a thank you could go a long way. It takes very little time and effort to make your customers feel appreciated and it assures that they will be back. It's not surprising that the store was empty the whole time we were eating aside from a handful of people who came and left. Do...
Read moreWas a first timer here and had wife and 3 kids from 3 to 12 so figuring out orders was slow going. The woman taking our order was short with us and impatient even though there was no one behind us and we would have been fine with letting her know when we were ready but her demeaner insisted we were going to order right then since she'd already made the trip to the counter. I get that build your own burger is kind of a theme here but with kids it's much easier to just choose a number with a prebuilt meal. If a slower process is forced on us the least you could do is be patient. She was eventually helpful in telling us that one large fry was enough for the 5 of us to share, and she was right.
Service would be 1 star as a base, added 2 for how good the burgers were (there are a couple better local places in town but this is the best chain burger I've had), subtracted 1 for how expensive it was (2x price of better local burgers) for a total...
