It was my wife, son, and i's first visit. She just had her gall bladder removed and she was interested in a tasty, new, albeit restricted meal. We drove an half hour here. Upon entering, the bald headed East coast accent manager yelled NO KIDS at my five year old without cracking a smile. Weird—we had to explain he was trying to be funny. He didn’t take it to heart but keep that at home. We brush it off as weird but it was completely inappropriate. Real welcome wagon. No ones here for your quirky personality talking down to kids, we’re trying to figure out a sandwich.
We take our time to soak in the menu, let them know it's our first time, not that they asked. No assistance just 3x "What can I get you?" While we're trying to pick for her needs and my young son, standing well out of the way of nobody else even in the building. She goes first and agrees for it Mike's way without understanding it comes with oil and vin. After double checking each dry ingredient, The worker splashes the oil on without asking, and we make it clear that’s inedible now. The worker under the manager protests, clearly annoyed; "you ordered it Mike's way; we can restart but that was mikes way" mind you, he had clarified every topping until the oil and vinegar so we were all surprised to see it splash. Should have done our homework, I’ll admit. She leaves embarrassed and cries outside, and lets me know she doesn’t want any toppings anymore, as they proceed to remake the sandwich unattended. From google reviews, this manager is great at making customers feel stupid even on their first order. I stand there alone to order my sons and I's food. The worker makes first contact since starting to add toppings, friendly, to her sandwich and upon seeing mayo on the bread I have to correct him again that she now actually doesn't want any toppings per Mike's way that she was unfamiliar with. The workers look angrily at each other and then at me and the manager complains about having to waste bread and sighs out loud. Maybe clarify not once but twice what mikes way includes? Dry toppings were mutually selected and discussed, the “juice” was not. A breakdown in communication didn’t need attitude coming out of these guys over a $20 sandwich.
Guys like him will turn away business when small matters arise. You have a premium product being guarded behind a potential problem. It is in his core to be argumentative, as seen by him yelling at a kid first thing and not taking accountability for two Messups. If you understood how to order, I could see you having a good time here but this was the worst attitude over nothing; just us being in the way of his online orders he was pushing behind his worker. Pushing hard enough a sandwich made 3ft away was made quickly and wrong twice. Who’s fault is a fair question but it shouldn’t even have happened. Only a corporate intervention could convince this guy he doesn’t need to be on the defense against people with $ in hand. We made sure to tell him 2-3x it was our first time and he made sure it would be our last. There’s personal responsibly on the customer but the attitude train we were riding to get to a sandwich while letting them know we were new was not worth coming back for.
Food was good, but my wife was literally crying with embarrassment while eating a first meal out somewhere, out of the hospital. We didn't expect issues here and are supremely disappointed with this location especially for the premium price point of $50...
Read moreI am going to jump in for the review I screenshotted below. I cannot believe they would defend this guy's behavior to a customer who had a terrible experience which I have personally witnessed on several occasions.
The manager (bald, loud) is rude and hostile EVERYTIME i am there. To customers and his fellow employees. He cuts people off. He shouts orders. He goes out of his way to correct customers in a way to make them look wrong.
And I have complained before because he never changes gloves while taking money AND making food. And they say they'll take care of it, but they actually promoted him. So now he is manager. Being hostile to almost everyone who walks in the door, customers AND employees. (I assure you i have nothing to do with jersey mikes except attempting to be a regular customer)
Check this. I ordered a catering package for a 10am pickup when they open. At 10:05, he came to unlock the door when i attempted to come in. He literally cracks the door and says "is there something I can do for you."
First, yes, you're open. Let me in.
Secondly, maybe the catering package i ordered. So he lets me in finally and IMMEDIATLEY starts telling me i cant order toppings on the side because it "ruins their presentation" and was very condescending assuming I thought it was about sandwhiches getting soggy which i NEVER mentioned. I ordered it as a suprise for my buddies at my favorite store and didnt know who wanted what topping so i asked for them all together on the side.
He still tries to argue with me, and I just want to pay and leave at this point. He is literally ranting under his breath. It'a like a fever dream.
I promise. Send someone anonymous to order a sub NOT mikes way and he will be weird, angry, and even half screw up the toppings on purpose. With dirty hands.
Watch him be hostile towards employees. And customers alike. Ive seen this numerous times AS A CUSTOMER.
Then explain how you just defend this guy when someone brings you a legitimate review of...
Read moreI'm a dasher and was trying to pick up a stack order. The workers were so dang slow and talking away and not working as they should. Took 12 minutes for me to pick up my order. What was embarrassing was I asked the first worker if order was ready and wasn't. I waited. Finally got in line with customers to speak with other gal. She said it's dd's problem not theirs. Their timer said they had 8 more minutes. I showed her my phone and told her were on a timer as well and this should have been ready. Other kid steps in n says they are working on it right now. Other kid, his name is Andrew started yelling at me saying I'm so rude n take my dd somewhere else. I was appalled. I simply asked the gal when my order was going to be ready n he "andrew" totally flipped out. He was screaming at me by the time I left the restaurant with customers order that was 12 minutes late on pickup caused by these incompetent teenagers working at jersey Mike's. Their was no reason for that kid to lose his temper on me. I was simply asking how much longer. I had another order in my car getting cold because of Andrew being so redicouisly rude and very nasty. I will be contacting his boss tomorrow. This kid needs to be fired. The other gal even told him to shut up. How embarrassing for doordash to deal with the incompetence of young employees. Sure hope I don't get an order...
