Oh it hurts me to have to say this but first Whitefish’s horrible Thai restaurant (already belly up) and now this one. It makes me think no one here has never been to Thailand. The ambiance is reminiscent of 5 Guys burgers. Looks like a fast food restaurant inside and as bad as the decor is, the food is much much worse. The Tom Ka Gai was missing lemongrass or galangal and tasted like canned Soup. The curry was so salty it was inedible. It tasted nothing like red curry and again tasted like premade food. Again not like any curry you’ll ever eat in Thailand or here for that matter. The bang bang chicken was not crispy and was warm on the outside and REALLY hot on the inside, reminiscent of microwaved food. Had it just come out of a deep fryer (as it should have) the chicken would have been crispy. The sauce was the consistency of water pooled up on the plate and the broccoli was pale and definitely not fresh broccoli. My guess is they microwave the chicken and precooked broccoli and dump watery sauce on it. I love mango sticky rice and I was hoping it would redeem them. Nope. Again I’m not sure the cooks know what mango sticky rice is. Theirs consisted of a heart shaped cake of plain sticky rice and a tiny plastic cup of coconut sauce. That is not mango sticky rice. Maybe this is the Thai food the owners think Kalispell wants but I can guarantee you, everyone loves authentic Thai food and we desperately need authentic Thai food...
Read moreWe were very excited to try this restaurant, but it was a huge disappointment and incredibly pricy for the quality of food. I ordered the Tom Kha soup, and Basil chicken, my husband ordered their Pho and a Thai tea, and we shared the calamari appetizer. I took 1 bite of the the Tom Kha and it tasted really off and was not good. When our waitress came up to ask how we were liking our food, I told her the soup was not good and I didn't like it. She got kind of offended and defensive. I told her I would not be eating it. She didn't even offer to take it or comp us for it. She just walked away, and didn't really bother to check in with us again. None of the other dishes were that flavorful including the drink, and the Pho was lacking in anything of substance, minus the gigantic pile of sprouts they served with it. You had to try hard to find any other meat or veg in it. The calamari tasted and looked like little breaded rings you'd find in the freezer section of a grocery store. The food and service were greatly lacking, so it was a huge bummer to pay $60-70 for all of it, and especially frustrating to pay for a dish I didn't even eat. I personally would not...
Read moreWent to this restaurant today to try it out on a lunch date with hubby. Overall the food was very flavorful, but the Chicken Satay (2 chicken skewers) was very dry(overcooked), Sesame balls was a bit undercooked on the inside; I get the restaurant is new, so it's working out the kinks but the Seafood Mix & BBQ Beef Short ribs was very good, the seafood mix broth was very tasty.
I think my only issue was the waiter that was serving us today, felt like he was hovering over our table, before and after ordering. Coming over to the table to check on things here and there is great, but 10 times in less than an hour, a bit much. Yes we counted. At first, it appeared he was checking to see if we were ok, then he would just stop to chat. He only checked on the elderly couple across from us, like twice while we were there.
I hope this isn't taken in a negative way, but a training opportunity He was a nice waiter, just need to improve on reading a table/room and not make your patrons feel like you're hovering over them watching them eat. Otherwise, it' a good...
