This Subway location (by Kalispell Home Depot) has been our family favorite for years. The daytime manager is a gem! She is friendly and always accommodates our special requests and even remembers our orders when we walk in. This is rare these days in the service industry, so a shout out is well-deserved to this wonderful woman!
However, for the first time ever I encountered an exceptionally rude employee on the evening of June 23rd at around 5 p.m. I didn’t see a nametag on her uniform but I make mental note of her poor customer service skills at every turn. The employee had dark red dyed hair and was surly from the get go. The other employee at the counter was fine and almost seemed ill at ease witnessing her co-worker’s bad behavior which has prompted this review.
I was the only customer when I approached the counter. The unwelcoming employee had a scowl on her face when she asked for my order. The first sandwich request I had to repeat three times. When requesting a kids’ sandwich, I began with…”I’d like provolone…” at that point she abruptly barked at me, “The vegetables are the other side. Tell me what MEAT you want.” She didn’t even give me a chance to finish my request which included my meat request, salami and turkey. She then proceeded to place pepperoni on the sandwich. Thank goodness I was watching her to correct her. No apology came from her at her mistake. By the way, she forgot to add the turkey.
When requesting that mustard and mayo be added first on the second sandwich, a footlong, I may as well have asked for the moon. Her audible sighs of incredulity were almost laughably melodramatic. I pointedly told her that for years I’ve ordered that footlong with condiments added first. Evidently she has never experienced an order that deviated from whatever norm she follows and she made sure to display her exasperation.
When I arrived home with my take-out order, she had managed to botch the kids’ sandwich, forgetting the mustard which I had requested. I guess I didn’t supervise her closely enough.
A phone call to this location went unanswered and voicemail is not set up, hence this public review. I don’t tolerate this ridiculously inept and blatantly ugly behavior well in the service industry. This employee needs correction and some serious training in customer service. I left that store shaking mad and very hesitant to ever return without a...

Read moreMy family went into this store and were not greeted. My husband had to ask for service. When he noticed the veggies looked slimy and old, he mentioned it to the woman behind the counter and she actually yelled at him that the veggies were fine, took a handful of lettuce and threw it on the floor. She was shockingly rude and unprofessional and the food all looked very old and rotting. We will never go back or recommend this store to anyone. The subway in Walmart is close and the staff are much nicer. Stay away...
