Skinny Buddha — Restaurant in Kannapolis

First time trying anything in this food hall. I haven't seen any other place with sushi in downtown Kannapolis so I was excited when I saw they had sushi on the menu. I ordered the Sakura roll. I'm not sure if that's what I got because it didn't seem to align with the description? I had already waited a decent amount of time to get my order, not that I'm completely faulting them they could just be understaffed. The fish in the sushi was tough. The rice not very good and the rolls itself were kind of falling apart. The presentation was not appetizing at all for a $14 roll, with sauce haphazardly put on the roll and these stale tasting tempura flakes. I'm not writing it off completely, as maybe it was on me for not getting the hibachi, which looked decent. But I think I'll try other places in this food hall before giving this place another try. Beware...

The hibachi chicken was tough and dry and basically tatseless. The rice and vegetables were too salty. The carrots were undercooked. It’s too expensive for the quality of food you’re getting. The service was very very slow and took about 25 minutes to get our meals. When we finally received the food both meals were cold. Even the taste of the yum yum sauce was off. Honestly we should have requested a refund of almost 30.00 for the two meals. Definitely a waist of money. Unfortunately it’s too expensive to give it a second chance and we will not go back to throw away money. The atmosphere is great and will try the other food...

Sorry to haven't give 3 stars. It's not for the food. It was pretty good. We ordered 2 sushi rolls and shrimp noodles. When we ordered they were out of carrots so they offered extra brocoli. Ok, no worries, when we picked up the order, no 2 rolls! Instead of letting us know, they "completed the order with one roll. Then they told us they ran out of seaweed so could only make one roll? This is a sushi place with no sushi? Then the Yum Yum fell on the floor. Not a good idea for a sushi place to have no sushi and not be informed until the order is ready for the customer? So I guess I'll watch my wife eat? Come...
