Designed to only allow for one line, service was slow, workers stood around instead of getting orders to customers, the wait at this location with only 5 cars in front of me was longer than at my local store with 4 lanes of orders both taken and delivered to window 4 wide with 30 cars in each lane. At this location with only 1 lane for orders and pick up there were 3 orders takers standing outside with only 1 taking orders at a time, then as we neared the window our food was left on a cold metal surface outside in the cold as the 3 people outside at the window were standing around and not getting anyone their food. It was a slow night after dinner and before the late rush. The best part of this experience was the food as even though we waited to get our food that was ready we'll before we got to the only person even trying to hand out food it still was on point on flavor. The food flavor was the only saving grace. After this experience the only way I'm going back to this location again is if it is the only place I can get a hot meal from open in a 30 mile radius. Do not get me wrong I LOVE chick fil a, but this one was a disgrace to the company, the brand, and the companies policies and design.. I pray that anyone who has never had chick fil a do not use this store! Go to one where the employees want help people not just stand around doing nothing expecting to get paid. Go to one where the workers are excited to be there the experience is life changing its so different. This is a location that needs new staff willing to work and staff with the work ethic that this company is known for. If I had an hour lunch I might get through their line in time to eat while driving back to work if I worked at Dave & Busters directly across the street. Do not go here if your in a hurry or on a short time table. You WILL be LATE! Make sure you have extra time on what you think you'll need to ve safe. If i ever go back to this location and anything is changed about it I'll update as for now this is not even a place to go if your on break or lunch, by the time you get your food you'll have to be clocked back in let alone commute time and eating time. I'm very disappointed and astounded people are getting paid to guff off and still get paid and the utter lack of urgency while food sits in the critical temp zone and does not get handed to the customers who have already paid for the order. Im on immuno surpresents I have to take food safety seriously now, when it's thrown to the wind as was done here, I don't get the luxury to give second chances with that, it's my life I have to be mindful of that so I cannot afford to risk...
Read moreEdit: since I first wrote this review, the consistency and quality at this location has improved! I think new management just had to get the hang of things and they are the most earnest staff! Always going above and beyond when necessary. I didn't change my start ranking, it's always been a fave, but I've adjusted my ranking below.
I love nearly all Chick-fil-a restaurants, I'm an addict. This means almost nothing will make me NOT go to a Chick-fil-a if it's an option. It also means I know the difference between a well prepared meal from Chick-fil-a and a poorly executed one.
I have been a patron of most Chick-fil-a locations in the KC area so I'll will share a review specific to this location as well as my own personal list ranking the best locations.
The speedway location fares pretty well on my list. It is also the closest to where I live (Leavenworth). More often then not the food is fresh and tasty. Unfortunately they're not always consistent. Sometimes the fries taste old and they skimp on portion size more than I would like. And I judge Chick-fil-a on their fries more than anything else. (Duh.)
I understand the location has been under new management since late 2016. Since then I have noticed that my order is messed up more often that it used to be. Every few visits I end up having to go back because of a mistake on the order. They always make it right, but it's still annoying and inconvenient.
Here is my list ranking the Chick-fil-a locations I am most familiar with. If you care about good Chick-fil-a and it means going out of your way 5 or even 10 minutes, go to my #1. They are consistently above bar in every way.
#1 135th & hwy69 #2 Barry Road #3 Speedway #4 St Joe #5 61st and Metcalf #6 Wornall #7 Olathe #8 I haven't visited any location on the east side as often. #19256 97th and Quivira (this location is consistently overcooked, dry,...
Read moreWorst experience I’ve ever had at any Chick-fil-A! I’m honestly baffled in how horrible these people are. Came with my family to grab dinner and after going through the drive thru, they told us to park and wait for them to bring us our food. They brought out everything except my chicken sandwich. My father went in to ask them for it and they told him that they didn’t have anymore chicken sandwiches and we’d have to wait for them to make more. This is CFA!! How do you run out of basic chicken sandwiches? Also, why didn’t they say anything to us initially?? If we had driven off, we would’ve noticed too late. It is extremely incompetent of them for not even mentioning the lack of a sandwich that we paid for. They only told us we’d have to wait once my father went inside, not when the food was brought out. Not only that, we had to wait almost another 20 minutes only for the sandwich to be brought out to us. It would be understandable if they were “making” new sandwiches, but the sandwich ended up barely even warm. Being from Atlanta (CFA’s origin), every Chick-fil-A is known for impeccable service and I’m left satisfied, but this just left me and the rest of my...
