We were seated quickly, which was nice. We had a young lady " Korean". She was very nice, great smile, I believe she is fairly new to being a server. She just needs to walk little faster, to speed up her service. ▪︎We got Caramari (came with sauce) my husband described it tomato paste & parmesea (it Didn't taste good at all). We also got onion rings (they were yummy), we ordered for the "Happy Hour", to save a little money, we ordered at 6pm. I asked the server to hurry. Never heard back. ▪︎Got our food, husband ordered dozen oysters on half shell (recieved six), but that could be fixed easy enough (no oyster firk). I had the chicken A La Mer (my favorite) was eating, then came across a hair. We notified our server right away. I gave her my plate to get a new one. ▪︎Then they have these (mini computer like thing) has our bill. Never had a "manager" come to our table to apologize for the food incident, only brought a new plate. Read over our reciept. was told the computer doesn't allow the happy hour food prices, when entering even at 6:01pm, I feel should be able to over ride it. (Again was never told after we ordered), couldn't get the Happy Hour price, ( that is the only reason I ordered the price, we already had one maybe I would have wanted to cancel it then, alot folks are on tight budgets nowadays, again no commication. ▪︎The manager took off half of my individual meal. It would have been nice " the whole thing" we were Never Told what they were going to do (No commication what so ever). Then when you put your card in, machine pops up for tip. I am sorry I Do Not like adding TIP, while the server is Standing Over Me (that is rude too me), I knew our server was inexperienced to realize this, and I wanted to talk to my husband regarding the amount we should give her (again our private conservation). I had to ask the server to give a few minutes, while we were discussions the tip, the screen goes "Black" and didnt know how to get it back up. Asked the hostess (we were sitting right behind the stand), he didn't know how it worked. Finally caught our server, got it back on. Added our tip, it ask how you want receipt, I was typing my email address, I hit the @, the box was gone. I was on some other screen that had all kinds of list of money amounts. My husband caught the server to just get a printed copy. Omg it should not be This Hard to Pay a bill, talk with husband regarding tip, enter & get a receipt. (By the way the machine didn't have paper in it). ▪︎▪︎So paying the bill was a negective 10 stars ☆. Especially after dealing with the food issue (I was calm, and discreet regarding the hair). Management needs to train serving staff more, and teach the host/hostess how the machines work, at least to know how to get the screen to come back up. Disappointed, most of food was good. ▪︎But this location truly has some issues they need assistance on. ▪︎ I truly hope Management reads this post, so things can be addressed so it can become at 10...
Read moreBeen here twice now. I held off on reviewing the first time because I figured I'd give it at least two tries. Not very good. I know we're a long way from Louisiana, but this place is average at best. It tries hard to give you the NOLA feel with all the tchotchkes on the wall reminiscent of a New Orleans jazz bar, but the food isn't even close to Nawlins quality. On our first visit, the service was much better even though it was mid afternoon slow time. This time the poor waitress seemed to hate her life and having to even serve tables. No smile. No welcome. She even breezed by once after we'd had more than enough time to read the entire menu to let us know she'd be back to take our order while she went on cleaning table after table around us. Definitely not quick service. I got the Seafood Platter, and was highly disappointed in the almost $20 plate. 4 shrimp which were more than aptly named. Medium sized at best, and Jazz needs to try a different type of batter. About the same as Long John Silver batter. The shocking part to me was the miniscule fried oysters. If you've ever had smoked oysters from a can, those are usually larger! These were about one-third to one-half the size of the hushpuppies! Not even bite sized! I certainly wouldn't have ordered a dish with them at all had I known how tiny they would be. Go to Louisiana and order fried oysters in season... They'll be about a mouthful each, before battering and frying! These would be an embarrassment to a restaurant in Louisiana. And the catfish. If it was really catfish, it didn't taste much like it. I've eaten a ton of catfish in my 69 years in cheap all-you-can-eat places and in pretty high end gulf coast seafood locations. I had a hard time tasting the catfish in this filet. Overall, and my wife said it before I did... We...
Read moreHad not tried Jazz at this location before. Many years ago ate at the location on 39th Street and enjoyed it. I wish I could say the same about this spot at Legends in KCK. Walked in on a Monday night around 9pm. Being a weeknight, didn't expect it to be busy, but there were maybe 5 or 6 other customers total dining. The place is really big, so it felt empty and lifeless. Almost more corporate than unique. Nobody greeted us, so I found an employee and asked if the kitchen was still open. She didn't seemed thrilled at all to see us and said "Kitchen is open until 11pm sir...". Didn't offer a table or seat however. I asked if we could grab dinner and she said "sit wherever you want and someone will get to you". Bad vibes from jump. Perhaps should of clued me in. Decided to sit at the empty bar. The bartender was cleaning the fridge and just glanced at us and said "give me a few minutes". She proceeded cleaning for 4 or 5 minutes and finally brought menus. I ordered the Seafood St. Charles. The description of the dish looked great. Creole dish with shrimp, scallops, crawfish, crab, and a hint of coconut. Cost of the dish was $23.50. When it arrived, felt underwhelmed upon seeing it. Didn't see much more than rice and a couple small shrimp. No crab. Maybe 1 scallop. Maybe a small piece of crawfish. Additionally, even though it looks like a fairly large dish in the picture, it was served on a flat plate, not in a bowl. When we asked for bread, the bartender seemed put off by us asking. She brought a small basket of really dry, bland, and semi stale bread. Overall not a great experience. Maybe they had an off...
