Yard House boasts a large menu with entrees with a wide range of cuisines, ranging from American-fare, to more ethinic entrees. They also house a large keg room with around 100 craft and corporate beers. We’ve been to location a lot for their great happy house on appetizers and beers and always had top-notch service. On this visit, we had to wait a little longer than usual to get our drink order in—not a big deal at all, but the manager came out to our table to apologize and buy our first round of drinks. This was a classy move that I do not see a lot: a manager who cares about their customers’ experiences and will do whatever it takes to ensure they have a nice time at their restaurant.
I ordered their Abuela’s Chicken ($18), a new entree with roasted pasilla, street corn, spicy rice, cilantro, and a chipotle sauce. It was just OK; the chichen was overcooked and came out dry. The sauce helped bring it back to life and added a good flavor. The street corn was fantastic, but the huge pile of white rice was confusing—it should’ve been spicy, but I was OK with it. I wouldn’t recommend this entree and urge Yard House to retool it.
My date ordered the BBQ Chicken Salad ($15), with avocado, pasilla, corn, cheddar and jack cheese, tortilla strips, tomatoes, beans, fried onions, cilantro, and chipotle ranch dressing. She substituted the chicken for Garden, a meatless chicken product. This is her go-to selection and loves it—especially when she makes the substitution. The kids ordered off the kids menu ($7 options) and went witht the burger/fry combo and the cheese pizza/edamame combo. They loved it—I had to finish the burger and have to say it was tastey. The kids meals come with a drink and dessert—so it’s a definite pleaser at a good price.
I would rate this experience as a 3.5, but since I can’t rate on the halves, I will round up to a 4. They need to ensure the food coming out of the kitchen lives up to the premium price because people expect to get what they pay for and premium prices should yield premium dishes. Also, Yard House should lower their beer prices by $1 per pint to align with other bars/pubs and restaurants and sell...
Read moreAs promised, here is my review of my dining experience with my family. I love Yard House. They have a great selection of food and drink and a great patio at this location. I recommended this to my family for a get together on a Friday night after a long week of work. I knew that would be busy so I put our name in ahead so that a table would be ready by the time we got there. My parents arrived before I did and we're told that it didn't matter I put our name and a half time so they put their name in as well and requested a booth. By the time we got there there was a table ready but it was not a booth. We are four adults we were placed in a table that was the loudest area of the whole restaurant in between tables of families with children. There was someone hard of hearing with us who has difficulty hearing in a loud environment. I went back up to the hostess stand and requested a different table. One in a quieter location. There were actually 2 open booths that would've been fine. I was told "it's about a 35 minute wait. " I mentioned that we had put our name in ahead of time. I also said that we still wanted a different table. We were never reseated. At the end of our dinner I went to speak with the manager, Quintin. He was nice enough to offer free drinks and a dessert. While this was a nice gesture, it does not make up for the fact that we wasted an evening here that should have been enjoyable and relaxed that was instead noisy and almost impossible to have a conversation. There was another table next to us with a nicely dressed couple also seated in the middle of noisy families with kids. I highly suggest training your hostesses on appropriate seating. Having been a hostess before, there is an art and science to it. We eat out frequently and I won't waste our time and money on an evening out here again, unfortunately. There are plenty of restaurants to spend your money on. Sorry I cannot recommend this place for an evening out. Lunch or...
Read moreWe are here for a team dinner after a tournament. The downside was the long wait times and the dim lighting. Also, 3 of us ordered Medium temp burgers, and all 3 of us received rare. But on the upside, the wait staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. They even brought us cheese curds because we had to wait so long to be seated. Overall, it was just an ok experience. If you want more details: There were about 13 of us. We got there at around 5pm, so I guess we hit the dinner rush. We waited for at least 30 mins to get a table. The servers were very friendly and they brought a few orders of complimentary cheese curds to make up for the wait time. They took our orders in a timely manner, but it took about 45 mins for us to get our food. I ordered a medium burger with sweet potato fries. The food was delicious. My burger was a bit more rare than I preferred, but I ate it just fine. My husband would've loved it. The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy and had good flavor. The lighting was very low. There were candles at the table giving some light, but the overhead lights were dimmed quite a bit. Paying for the check was odd, but it could've been due to the large size of our group. They programmed our orders into a handheld machine and we just passed it around the table. I wanted to pay for 2 orders but there wasn't a great way to do that without having to call over the waitress. So it was a little inconvenient to swipe my card twice. I think we ended up being there for 3 hours. I would rather not be at a restaurant for that long. Overall though, they had a great food menu and an expansive drink menu. They had a few gluten free options too. The "GF Bun" for the burger is just 2 pieces of GF bread. I didn't order it, but my friend said it was pretty good. I would be interested to try this place again at a time that...
