Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Kansas City

I walked into Cold Stone this day in hopes of a delectable and indulgent cold treat however I was given that and a twilight zone like out of body experience. It was as if M Night Shyamalan had written and produced a movie where a couple walk into a shop and are the only ones there with 3 people behind the counter yet felt like they were invisible. We had stood at the order giving place a mere 3 feet from a worker who had obviously been instructed to not acknowledge our existence in some sort of practical joke. They were scooping around the ice cream and putting the scoop down aimlessly for maybe 2 minutes as we thought she must’ve been making a Uber eats order but nope just scoop, drop scoop, repeat. I at first was curious to see how long this would last but then I had to ask “so uhhh watch a doing?” Girlfriend holding back giggles at this point as shockingly I was ignored. I keep going “so are yah playing with it? I would too if I worked here I guess” then we were told “nope just getting out some of the bad stuff” we were relieved that we were in fact not invisible then our minds went back to the ice cream. So after the awkward silence after that back and forth we then go for it “so uhhh can we order now” then the normal process of ordering food at a food place began then silence fell over the shop. Two of the workers began conversation “which seemed like normal human behavior” so we were more relieved then payed for our treats and left. An older woman was going for the door as we were leaving so I held the door for her then she looked at it decided not to go in and also didn’t acknowledge us. Well done Cold Stine hiring a director, writer, and actors for this hilarious prank.

First time visit to this Cold Stone Creamery location. First I attempted to place my order online using a gift card however, the website was having issues. I had to drive all the way to this location to place my order. The service line was extremely long which was okay because I figure it would be worth the wait. I had three customized (quart size) ice cream orders. Each order had to be specially made because certain people were allergic to certain items. Placing my order was easy I had everything wrote down (even the prices were figured out). The problem occured once I received my order. When I arrived home and opened my bag, I realized the ice cream was inside of containers.....without any type of descriptions or markings on them. Therefore, I had no way of knowing what type of ice cream was inside the containers. Even when I opened the containers (with gloves on) I was still unable to figure out which ice cream was which. They looked similar and I did not want to take a chance and give the wrong flavor to someone who is allergic to a certain topping. In the end, I just threw the ice cream in the back of my freezer and went out to Dairy Queen and purchased customized (labeled) ice cream quart's. In the future, I will go to Dairy Queen from now on. Very disappointed that the customer service representative did not take the time to label the containers. It does not matter how busy a place is. When it comes to the amount of money that this company charges for their ice cream they should be kissing the ground that customers walk on. Something sweet. Let me start by saying I have never been to Cold Stone... Shocking I know but facts are facts and I have to say for my first time going, I loved what I ordered. I had a mango pineapple shake and my husband had the pineapple blueberry. Both were spectacular ✨ the shakes themselves get 5 stars. The rest of the products looked high quality and I loved the marble stone concept. The only reasons this place gets 3 stars is bc it was extremely 🔥 inside. Im not exaggerating with the fire it was way too hot in there. And humid. I honestly felt bad for the workers as they looked flushed. I have a feeling something was up with the air tho bc the door was open. So if we go back and it's not on fire I will give it another star. Also it was a bit small and the line was pretty long. Kudos to the workers tho bc despite the temp they got through them quickly! Again the smoothie was lovely however so we will for sure give it...
