While in Kansas City for a family trip we searched for a breakfast joint to eat on Saturday morning and I kept finding myself drawn to this place. Yelp reviews seemed to be REALLY good but everyone basically said “if it’s a weekend, forget it” since the wait would be astronomical. We decided to take our chances anyway and I’m really glad we did. The parking was a little challenging as it was all practically completely full when we arrived and this had me worrying that our wait really would be “Disneyland wait times” but when I spoke to the extremely nice gentleman at the front he told me the wait for our family of 4 would be about 20 minutes. That was MORE than reasonable for a Saturday morning in my book. The place is quite cramped. Tables can be very close together depending on where you are seated, but they want to get as many people in there eating as they can so I get it. I ordered a regular coffee for my drink, and for regular coffee it was really quite good. There’s something to be said when even your standard coffee stands up and you take notice of it. They have a wide selection of other coffee drinks too, but that is a very solid cup of coffee and you can keep refilling that wonderful cup during your stay. They even brought me a filled to-go cup when we were done without me asking! That’s next level right there. We all REALLY enjoyed our meals and we will absolutely come back when we visit again in the future. The corned beef hash as site is unlike any I’ve ever had before and I found it absolutely amazing. Do yourself a favor and check this place out, and believe me when I say it is worth the wait. Just a really solid breakfast experience.

Crispy Hash Browns For the Win! Four long time friends reconnected to celebrate with brunch at this busy, bustling eatery. Most items sounded delicious, with great creativity in the combination of ingredients for the crépes and omelettes. The Salubrious omelette was my choice, personalized to exchange feta for the Swiss cheese. The red onion chutney was a delightful accent to the flavors. Cheerful and efficient, our waitress, Kim, willing substituted hash browns for toast. The fresh fruit was just that: fresh! I ended up ordering an extra serving. The country potatoes of my friends were perfectly sized and uniformly crunchy. When asked to ensure "extra crispy" hash browns, Kim was doubtful. "We're not really known for that." I suggested that could change today... And I believe it has! My hash browns were the perfect crispy brown on the outsiders and cooked but fluffy on the inside. Bravo to the cook! None of us left food behind and coffee refills were frequent and included caffeine or not as requested. We're all from out of town, and envy those diners who could make a habit out of eating here.

Excellent brunch with something I've never had before: chorizo gravy. How did I not know that chorizo gravy was a thing? They put chorizo gravy on biscuits and a southwest benny. I ordered a side of chorizo gravy and dipped everything in it. Chorizo gravy is creamy, smoky and good. I would eat chorizo gravy with a spoon. Chorizo gravy also belongs on the breakfast burrito. The only thing I did not put chorizo gravy on was a blueberry empanada. Blueberry empanadas don't need help from chorizo gravy, but I'm certain they are friends. Blueberry empanadas are very good. Chorizo gravy is very good. Breakfast and brunch at eggtc. are very good. The only problem is that you cannot purchase a jug of chorizo gravy to go. Then again, I did not ask. I will have to go back and ask if they sell chorizo gravy by the jug. I will also eat another blueberry empanada while I wait. UPDATE: Chorizo gravy is still good. Did you know it goes on breakfast pizza too? Chorizo gravy is a very social topping, but it does not observe social distances rules. In this case, I have no complaint.

I just want to post an update and thank everyone at Eggtc., especially our server, Karolina, for a marvelous brunch! I met a friend there and our signals got a bit crossed; we arrived separately and each nabbed a table! (insert face-palm emoji here) The host and servers were all so kind; we consolidated to one table, and they moved my stuff for me. Even though it was busy, Karolina was SUPERB. She was at our table right away to take our orders, and was friendly and cheerful and efficient--the proverbial ray of sunshine! My friend was facing a busy day, so really appreciated her kindness. Our food was delicious, as always; we had the salmon crepes and salmon omelette, respectively, and everything was completely yummy. Many thanks to Karolina and everyone at Eggtc. for a consistently fabulous dining experience! I've eaten at Eggtc. several times since my last rating, but I just want to post an update. I've continued to have marvelous meals there, but two recent ones really stand out. The first was a breakfast with a college friend. I had the avocado toast and she had the cobb omelet. So many restaurants serve a variety of avocado toast, but I have to say that the version served at Eggtc. is SUPERB! Great ingredients melded together perfectly, and a just-right serving size, combined with friendly service by Jessie made for a wonderful meal. And then I took an older friend to breakfast for his birthday just a few days ago. It was a marvelous experience! He's a regular there, and it was delightful that everyone called him by name and welcomed him back. Lizbeth was our server and Claudia was our hostess, and I give a HUGE shout-out to both of them for their over-the-top hospitality! Lizbeth gave us time to look over the menu but was there as soon as we were ready to order; she checked back on us several times during the meal to ensure we had everything we needed (including refills on coffee). Claudia also stopped by the table several times to ensure we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves (which we were!). It was lovely to have such attentive and truly caring folks around us. My friend doesn't get out much anymore, so the restaurant staff really is his community. Thank you all at Eggtc. for being so considerate of him. And of course our breakfasts were YUMMY! I had the salmon crepes, which were delectable, and my friend built his breakfast ala carte. They made everything just the way he asked, and once again it was lovely to have such attention to detail. Thanks to everyone at Eggtc. for great meals and marvelous service! I will, of course, be back! I just wanted to update my review and say again that, as a returning customer, I have been unfailingly pleased with Eggtc! Jessie has been our server on more than one occasion, and her sunny disposition is a GREAT way to start the day. She's attentive--refilling our coffees--and helpful--guiding us in menu choices--and is never too rushed to linger long enough to make sure we have everything we need. The food continues to be fabulous, and I've sampled several items on the menu by now. The short stack pancakes are delicious, and the last time I visited I had the salmon crepes which were simply DELECTABLE! Every time, I try something different, and every time, it's been a great meal. Thanks from a continuing customer to all the staff at Eggtc! My friend and I had a lovely breakfast at Eggtc the other day! He's a regular customer, so it was fun to accompany someone who was greeted by name by everyone from the host to the waitress to the busboy. Our meal was absolutely delicious! My friend had a cheese omelet and I had the Florentine Benedict, and both were simply yummy. The service was fast and friendly, and despite every table being full we didn't feel crowded. Appropriate infection prevention protocols were in place; all the staff were masked as well as every customer (when they weren't eating or drinking). I'll definitely be a returning customer! Thanks for...

This was not a good experience..the food was ok but the service i received from Jessie D was the worse. I had a customized omelet with the option of hash browns or seasoned potatoes..I asked for seasoned potatoes..when my order shows up..it's hashbrowns..no problem she corrected it..then I have 2 big ass pancakes and she brings a table spoon size syrup out..I had to ask for a 2nd..no problem..she checked on me once during my 30 to 40m visit and I had a small cranberry juice that was empty for most of my meal..when she checked on me I ordered a large cranberry and I was at the end of my meal cuz it was dry..she brought my ticket and I gave her my card and I noticed she was taking a long time to run my card..it wasn't packed in there and she seemed perplexed..when she brought my bill it was just the bill. I requested a break down of my meal and at the top of my order all things was fine..I get closer to the bottom and I could see she purposely added items to my order..That she knows I didn't order..I questioned her about it and she gave some BS excuse I wasn't tryna hear it I just remained quiet and she took a longer time.so they canceledthe order and she wanted to run my card again..HELL NO! I went to the bar area and paid..I'm willing to bet she does this often..adding items to the bill then says "oh I'm sorry" when she gets caught..if you come here check your bill..cuz this is...
