Sighs... Where do I start... I am a former employee, as of recent, at this location only. The General Manager is EXTREMELY racist, which pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the staff. There is OBVIOUSLY an unspoken "brown-paper-bag" rule being implemented, in which CERTAIN PEOPLE are treated disgustingly, based SOLELY on the color of their skin. I was CONSTANTLY harassed about doing things that I had been TRAINED to do, that were still being done by other (non-black) employees. There were also several times when my trainer intentionally taught me the wrong way to do things, and yet, there were NO repercussions for said trainer. I was only harassed about my hair when it was worn in an "ethnic" manner i.e. "braids, dreads, natural texture." They even had the NERVE to pull that "angry black woman" card, as if that was supposed to shut me up... The worst part is, when I reached out to Corporate (PanAmericanGroup), I spoke directly with the the Human Resources Manager, who was very short and stand-offish with me and often tried to sneak extra words into my statements, almost as if to trick me... It was like she called me already prepared to literally REBUT every single thing I had to say. She was obviously not listening to understand, but to respond and to cover their own behinds, instead. After being denied a transfer request, for the third time, I was left with no other option but to quit! The amount of stress I had to endure on a daily basis was absolutely ABSURD and not worth the check!!! At one point, they even went so far as to make sure that none of the items of my choice were available or me to eat, until after I was gone for the day. It got so bad, I was absolutely sure that someone was tampering with the food items that I did eat on a daily basis. I'd experienced extremely excruciating stomach pains, but only on the days that I'd eaten at work. Anytime I was in a good mood, the General Manager made it her duty to change that. In fact, if she spent half as much time actually doing her job as she did harassing us, that location might have actually passed their EcoSure inspection, which they did not! P.S, If you are a person of color, beware of who you allow to prepare/serve your food. Even I'd stopped eating there (when I was still employed) after certain things I'd witnessed that were just NOT to my sanitation standards, and apparently, EcoSure agrees with me. I would strongly advise you all to do the same. These people don't want your business and they don't care rather or not you know it! The only reason I gave that one star rating, is because zero stars was not an option... I wouldn't ever dream of eating at this Panera, or any other Panera, for that matter... In fact, I feel STRONGLY that a boycott...
Read moreThe one on 11401 College blvd..There Monday June 11th. Got there about 7pm. i go to panera fairly regularly for salads. 3 of us orderd ,out out of the 3 orders there were issues w 2. The women who took our order seemed completely apathetic, not present ,we were not greeted at all, no acknowlegment of our presence. We ordered ,and she did non of the things every employee whos pretty much ever taken my order at any panera does. Such as as which side we would like with any of our orders, bread, apple chips. Any special requests ,such as we ordered no croutons ,and added an ingredient to the salad. Non of which happened. Upon returning to enquire, it was clear she had not even placed it in the order. I guess no surprise, since she didnt acknowledge anything we said. Zero speaking on her part throughout our ordering process. No hi ,no Thank You,no what sides, Didnt read the order back as usually occurs at Panera as well. Honestly..im not sure what was up ,but anyone (employees) we saw in there seemed to be in a similar bad mood! It all was taken care of and the food was good so ..the salad was a reasonable size for a dinner/entree salad at this store. Not at all other stores ive been to...
Read moreI have eaten at St Louis bread co/Panera bread for almost 30 years and I have never had a bad experience until the past few times I went to this one. I ignored the fact that the oven was broke at a bakery and yet they still opened once due to my past positive experiences, I also overlooked the loyalty cards not working another time (despite the almost daily emails from them to use it). This time I am not overlooking the loyalty card system not working. In the past two days I got an email for five dollars off to come back to them and a separate free coffee email. I visited and got nothing free or any discount because the loyalty system was down again. I was not told this and was asked for my number a few times. I found out because the payment system said loyalty canceled, and I asked. No apology, no acknowledgement other than "yeah, it's down". It is also the first time I have been in a bakery that smelled aweful. I know that it is a difficult time and the challenges that businesses are facing are new. If you cannot provide experiences that we have come to expect, please just don't open. Do not promise discounts and free things if you are not going...
