
My sister and cousin would go here regularly so I finally decided to try it out this past weekend with my mom and sister. I ordered chicken and shrimp pasta. The young lady at the register told me my order was ready so I walked up to the front counter. Then she said "hold on, we're actually waiting on your two pieces of fish". A few minutes later she calls me back back to the counter to give me my order. I asked where are the two pieces of fish? She told me they just got their fish order in and the fish is frozen so they have to use the fish they have to fill their fish orders. I asked her does the price lower since there is no fish? She said no. As I'm telling my sister we don't get fish, she goes to the counter to talk to the young lady because she goes regularly and has ALWAYS gotten fish with her pasta order. The same young lady tells her they no longer provide it with pasta meals. As I overhear them I ask "well why was I waiting on fish if it's no longer provided?"
When my mom placed her order she specifically asked the young lady if the greens were fresh or canned and the young lady said fresh. They were canned. Why lie? Most restaurants serve canned greens but tell the truth so customers can decide if they want them or not. My sister had previously loved their food but she said the portion size we received was considerably smaller than what she has gotten in the past. My wife and I discovered District Fish And Pasta House on TikTok and made the 30-minute drive from up north to check it outāand let me tell you, it was 100% worth it! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a true celebration of Black cultureāsports pictures on the walls, AMAZING food, good vibes, and a perfect mix of R&B/RAP playing in the background.
We ordered the chicken and shrimp alfredo, chicken alfredo, and the Basa fish with mac and cheese and potato salad. Everything came out hot, fresh, and seasoned to perfection. The Basa fish was crispy on the outside and tender on the insideādefinitely the star of the show! The made-in-house tartar sauce was so good and paired perfectly with the fish. Make sure you get the Basa fish; itās a must-try. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Shortcake, which didnāt disappoint either; it was the perfect end to a fantastic meal.

There was no note stating they were closed for the day operating hours were on the door but no one in site. I called the number and there was no professional answering machine so i didnāt even know if i was calling the right number. Fast forward i wanted to try it again. I ordered 2 pasta bowls and 2 cakes cost are a little high. In total i spent about $45-50 and was told 20 mins. While waiting a man with 3 braids came in aggressively and started pushing in chairs and then goes to the back and automatically picks up the utensils and starts cooking without even washing his hands š³.
