Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Kansas City

I asked Austin, the server, if he could add extra cane sugar to one of my drinks. He said there’d be a charge and I agreed, but then claimed the drinks were already made. That wasn’t true, he hadn’t even started blending them. The drinks were still sitting in the blender, and he was still adding ingredients while saying this to one of the drinks. There were no other orders and no one else there, so it’s not like he was busy. I passed another location to come here because I liked this one, but this turned out to be a disappointing and strange experience. I got a gift card from here and decided to use it today. I got one of my favorite smoothies, an Island Green with added strawberries and peanut butter, Austin prepared it and it was absolutely amazing. I also ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Quesadillas, made with plant based chicken. I typically don’t eat manufactured “meats”, I’m really weird about it, however I took a chance and it was not bad. I thoroughly enjoyed the Quesadillas.

Don't get me wrong, the kids there are nice, very polite. But, it seems like sometimes they need a bit of pep in their step.
