Rebel Coffee — Restaurant in Kansas City

Absolutely top of the line service, food, and coffee! I came here for the first time on very little sleep after a plane flight. Had a mishap with my coffee and spilled it on my table. The barista (young man, long dark hair) noticed and came over to offer me a new saucer since mine was now full of coffee - honestly that was impressive because I was sitting in a corner and didn't expect anyone to see. I really appreciated the help getting everything cleaned up. As a coffeeshop manager myself, I always teach my team that we never know what someone else is going through, and a small moment of kindness can mean a lot to a person, so look for those chances to be kind. I am in fact dealing with something very heavy in my family (reason for the plane flight), and I'm a little emotional right now over being shown one of those moments of kindnesses myself. So thank you to that barista because you made a hard day a little bit brighter for one person. :)

As a side note, the chocolate croissant and pepper jack quiche were THEEEEE best!! Really hit the spot! If I still lived in KC, I would come here every day. I think I will come here every day this week...

Just an all-around great place! I can't speak to their baked goods because an enthusiastic fan bought them all out right before I arrived, but the bagel sammies are perfect. I wanted something mild but not bland, and it was a great toasty brunch. :) I also got their strawberry tea per the rec of the staff, which is made mostly of dried strawberry pieces and hibiscus. It tastes like if you added hot water to strawberry jam, but it's not so sweet to be cloying. Just so lovely. Also, relatively low, indirect lighting for those with sensory concerns. :) Music is a solid background too, not too loud or overly quiet. Rebel is a New addition to the Westport area! With a small but adorable cafe right next to the college and Mudpie bakery. They offer donutology donuts along with house made bagel and croissant sandwiches. Their espresso is rotated between single origins offering a delicious brew every time.
