One of the best spicy cuisine in Katy. Chef is from Hunan, have some specialty dishes everyone need to try. Love the high ceiling structure, feels modern and contemporary compare to most of the Chinese Restaurants.
Service is excellent, attentive and have great knowledge of food.
Dishes that I ordered: House special spicy noodle. One of the most popular dish almost everyone order for people knows Hunan food. They are very generous of the beef. The noodle is silky and chewy just the way how I love it.
House special smoke bacon and beef fried rice is to die for! They dry aged beef and bacon are just right, so it still kept the juiciness in them but also have the smell and flavor of dry aged method.
Smashed trio is something you can hardly find in houston, they smash the eggplant so hard so the entire seasoning and flavor would be completely absorbed. It's definitely the most fun dish to try.
Old Changsha snack is superb to have as desert. It's more like a street food that you used can find when I was growing up. So nice to have something special to remind me of the fun time at night market.
Of course I can not complete this list without mention their most popular dish the rice ball tofu. It literally melt in your month. I'm not a tofu eater because I felt most tofu have no flavor, but bravo to Hunan kitchen, they did a great job balancing the taste and the tenderness of this dish. For sure a must have!
Highly recommended. Will have to go back and try their pork kidney and sautéed bamboo root with pork tripe. Looks amazing on other...
Read moreThe place is very mediocre and most of the dishes are very American based even though this is a chinese restaurant, the staff was kind of rude and ignored my requests and questions several times. I’m not sure if this is the right restaurant or not since the name of this restaurant is very similar to the one I am at right now; Hunan Kitchen. My apologies if my review is under the wrong restaurant and I will remove it if it is. And btw, this restaurant is veryyyyyyyy empty but if you like a quiet American chinese food restaurant this restaurant wouldn’t be too bad. On a more positive note, this restaurant is very clean and the interior design is very up to date and modern.
Note:Oops sorry, I reviewed the wrong restaurant , I thought I was putting a review for the Hunan kitchen in China town. I visited your restaurant and omg is the food authentic and fresh. This is one of the only place with authentic Hunan food that doesn't make you feel gross and guilty after eating. I would definitely visit again and try out more of your menu. On a sidenote, this place is veryyyyyyy clean and organized with a welcoming, friendly staff. Sorry again for leaving a bad review for the wrong restaurant and I'll look forward to great things...
Read moreCame here on a recommendation from my co-workers and man is it good. The first time I came I was unsure what to order so I went with General Tso’s chicken and through a stroke of luck they brought me the wrong dish but it looked good and I just went with it. It was the spicy crispy chicken and I gotta say, it was quite tasty. I’m not even sure how to describe this dish except that it has a very floral taste/aroma to it that has to be experienced to understand. It also has a numbing agent in the spices that really activates when you take a sip of something cold. Tried a few dishes here and they were all good and I especially like the egg drop soup. All in all, an easy place to...
