New update* We tried once more and had a way better visit.. NICKY IS AN AMAZING SERVER! She is on top of everything. We never had to wait. The chicken fried steak was awesome and not greasy. The wild west shrimp was as amazing as always. I still have a problem with the host or hostess. We walk in, and he is just leaning against the counter. With messy hair and looking sloppy. They are the face of the restaurant. The host/hostess is who guests see first. The host/hostess should be smiling while being clean and tidy looking. And not act like the guest/customer is bothering them. Update* So I gave one more star. We went for dinner again.. The restaurant didn't smell as much like mildew anymore. I could still smell it as an undertone, but it wasn't near as prominent as the last visit. The service was great. Speedy and on top of things. The hostess was still not smiling and just not really what I would call a hostess. Again, I would love to train these hostesses. The food for me was alright except for my chicken fried steak lay in a puddle of grease in front of me. The chicken fried steak was shiny.. and it didn't taste as good as it usually done. Because I might as well have taken a spoon full of the frying oil and swallowed it. I barely ate any of it. The wild west shrimp was fantastic, as was the mashed potatoes and the dinner salad. I hope they shape up the hostess a bit.. honestly, all she has to is smile.
Tonight we went for dinner. When we walked in, the hostess just stared at us.. No smile, no "welcome to longhorn," and when she sat us, she didn't even look at us saying something under her breath as she turned to leave the table. Having been in the retail and food industries my whole life of employment, I found it rude. And if it were my restaurant, I would want every single person who walked through that door to be welcomed with words and a smile. The food was good as always, but our waitress was scatter brained. She kept dropping stuff and leaving us wait for a while, not to mention the appetizer came out after our meal. She would do things and forget, then have a small panic at the table thinking she didn't do whatever before realizing her reason for panic was sitting on the table. The manager acknowledged and took the appetizer off the receipt to save face.. which was nice, as we hadn't really complained or asked for a credit. But I have. I do have a slight issue with the scatter brain waitress(even as nice as she was). And the hostess at the door almost made me turn around and go somewhere else. Just because I am a stickler for providing a warm welcome to customers or clients. The hostess, being the first face people see, should be smiling and talk loud enough for people to hear them with a "Welcome to Longhorn Steakhouse."" Will there be 2 for a table or booth?" and don't set guests down with an attitude. The employees need a bit of training. I would love to go in and train the staff to act the way they should act and not like they are just there for the paycheck. And act like they are just working so hard. Organization can change that.. work smarter, not harder. 1 last thing, the past few time at this location my boyfriend and I noticed a mildewy smell in the restaurant, which made us hesitant to even go this time but we did anyway, and it Stull smells musty and mildewy. Might drive the distance to go to another...
Read moreThis is the first bad experience at this location, but there has been many signs. In the past year, we notice that this location has been down grading slowly but significantly. It first started with the carpet smell, but it did not bother us too much(we had been to many different locations, but this is the only one with this smell). Then, came the dirty restroom- but that is ok, I just made a mental notes to use restroom before getting here. Last visit we were sit on a table that have a lot of food dropped on the floor right underneath our feet- no biggie, it must had been a busy night. Tonight, we came in for our father birthday, and were greeted by a new host, who was very attentive, and polite. Our server greeted us shortly after and took our drink order. She then came back 15mns later on to take our order. We noticed couple of bigger tables and expected a slower service. 30mns in, our food has not arrive except for the initial bread and my side salad. I looked around forbour server, when I got her attention asking if she can check for our order since it has been 30mns, she gave us an ugly look, and questioned us: "30 mns?! I will check" (with a bit attitude). Then she walk away and take care for the other tables. To make sure, I am not crazy, I went back and ask the host when we was seated and was informed we had been seated at 8:03pm. I looked at my watch and it has been 8:50pm. Don't want to deal with server again, I asked the manager on duty to help us check on the food. Our came shortly after that at 9pm, the same server brought the food out with the same ugly attitide. I could have let all this go just like all the previous incidents since I understand, a busy can be rough, and server can have little control over the kitchen speed. However, what really drive writing this review is the manager came back to us 12mns after the food was dropped to drop us the check, no asking how our food is doing, or ask if we want any desserts. I understand if the location will be closing soon, but it was 9:12pm, the location does not close until 10pm! We came here to celebrate our Father's birthday and we did not even get to buy dessert. To get to such quality of service, it shows how little care management team put in...
Read more   Read moreWalked in and were sat immediately. The atmosphere was very relaxing with the way the lighting was. Very cozy. Riley was our waitress. From the start she did let us know they were short staffed and she had a full section and apologized for if and when there would be a wait. We are pretty chill and go with the flow so overlooked it :) Despite the heads up, she did fairly well. She informed us they were making fresh tea so there was a wait on that, but while waiting she did ring in our appetizers. We ordered the Texas brisket queso. Very delicious!! Only downfall was the chips. They brake so easily .
