The Local Bar Katy — Restaurant in Katy

So we are HUGE foodies one of the reasons we love Houston. We eat from everywhere, Steak 48, Hungry's, Saltgrass, Dakar, Huzzys, you name it, if there is good food you will find us there. Being that as it may, we called what we thought was "Local Bar" at 9.45p to order a few things off their menu. Someone answered then proceeded to keep saying "hello, hello" on a very clear line. Now, knowing l have a slight accent l figured maybe he could not understand me. So after he hung up on me l called again. Mind you l am calling "Local Bar" that closes at 12a. A girl answered and told me they do not take any to go orders. Perplexed l asked if this was Local Bar, she then said yes, after several qtns she then agreed to take my order only for her to say her manager said l should come in person to order to go. However at this point l was like Ummm... This left me feeling some kind of way. I am not sure if this african/British accent of mine played a role? Who knows, but l almost wished l had not called because l was beyond dissatisfied with the customer service. I had such high hopes and this terrible service caught me off guard. I am not sure l will try this place. My business may not be welcome so may just move on...

We went into this establishment to have tacos with our kids and were turned away stating we had to sit outside if our kids weren’t 21 yrs old and mind you my husband had been to this establishment plenty of times with my son who is 13 years old and has never had this problem. It’s a restaurant and the kids are with us what is the problem? We were not sitting at the bar either we were at a table! Why put us outside and it’s 102 degrees outside? Could it be we are a young African American couple with children and it was only Caucasian individuals in this establishment. I can’t say what all I know is we were turned away this is really a problem! This to me is discrimination I could see if this was a bar and didn’t sell food and we have never been there, but that’s...

Longtime fan of The Local Bar here in katy but they are more than fresh squeezed juices and hand crafted spirits, their tapas are absolutely delicious. So be sure you grab a goat cheese with Brussels sprouts pizza or the jalapeño hummus y’all these never disappoint. It’s worth mentioning that I didn’t think I liked goat cheese until trying this tonight and my goodness this the only way I want to top my pizza from now on lol. So serious, a must try!!!!
