The location is incredible. We sat on the patio overlooking the golf course. Stunning especially at sunset! We ordered the surf & turf burrito, enchilada plate, shrimp taco salad and veggie quesadilla. All the food was above average, good but not great Mexican (but we're from San Diego so maybe we have high standards for Mexican food?) The veggie quesadilla was large - made for 2 meals for my sister. The surf & turf had delicious meat but was half the size of any surf & turf you can find in California. My fiance was starving still after his burrito, which was especially disappointing given it was $20 for this tiny burrito. The taco salad was a good size. It was pretty good; I'd order it again, but again, for $20, I still found the taco salad at the fast food joint, Pollo Loco, to be more delicious and filling for half the price (given, not a comparable atmosphere). The service here was ok. We ordered a CAN of Pepsi but they brought us a fountain one, which my sister finds flat and not as good as a can. I had requested lemon for my water and it never came. They never came to refill water (and it wasn't that busy). No knives or straws were given until we went to find someone to ask for them. Only 1 napkin per person, until 4/5ths the way though dinner when I finally had sometime come by to ask you bring us more. Overall, the live music was amazing, the view incredible, the food average, the service below average. Average $25-35 per person if no appetizer or dessert. They do have specials that change each night of the week and happy hour which may be worth...
Read moreI never leave negative reviews but felt the need to let others know. This place is not good for groups larger than 4 people. My family and I (8 adults and 2 kids) went to Paco's because it was close to our condo. We arrived for a 6p reservation, sat down and waited about 45 minutes until someone came to get our drink order, that should've been our first clue. We ordered our food while awaiting our drinks. We each only ordered a few tacos or enchiladas, also quesadillas for the kids. We did not get our food until after 9p. We even asked if they could just serve the kids because they were starving. They made us order chips and salsa to snack on, the least they could've done was give that for free while we waited. My parents ordered very expensive Cadillac margaritas that came out with only sour mix and no alcohol. I did notice that the wait staff was making their own drinks. Finally after asking our server and the hostess multiple times they told us the kitchen was short staffed. Worst service I have ever experienced. I understand being short staffed and not wanting to lose business but be up front about it and at the very least give your customers complimentary chips and salsa, don't starve them. I hope this place figures out their staffing issues, the...
Read moreOh Pacos. You are so good to me😜 This is the best Mexican food on the south side of kauai. And they actually answer the phone and they do take out orders! Sooo many good things on the menu! Chorizo egg breakfast torta (I add a side of beans and smother it in even more of their fabulous frijoles, carnitas tacos, fish tacos plate, shrimp tacos plate, enchiladas plate, and lately my favorite is the shrimp burrito🔥. I order it with no pico de Gallo, mojado (bathed in RED salsa), with the fried chip they give you when you eat in (I always order to go). I am Mexican American, I have duel citizenship, and I lived in Mexico for 4 years. I was raised on beans and rice. I judge a Mexican restaurant by their beans and rice. This is the ONLY Mexican restaurant on kauai where I enjoy their beans AND rice. Well priced! Open air ambiance on the golf course with beautiful murals painted on the walls, live music, a good happy hour. What more does a person need in life? Do yourself a favor and enjoy pacos for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Satisfaction...
