Tonight around 5:57 I went into the Keene location for Jersey Mike's. We ordered three subs, two giant and one regular. I ordered a number 55 which is a chicken sub and when it was done the guy took his hand and shoved it inside the sub to push my meat back. Not knowing if his gloves are clean or not, I asked them to remake my sandwich whether or not his hands are clean or not. You don't shove your hand in someone's food. The answer I got from the person was my gloves are clean and the lady on the grill said how do you expect us to push the meat back in? The problem is is cross-contamination is horrible. So the point that I'm trying to make is now. Are you going to go shove your hand in someone else's food as well so they were not happy about me asking them to remake my my sub. There's always an issue in this place. It seems like nobody's happy. The woman behind the grill couldn't even smile. The guy had an attitude and it's just one very unhappy place. The woman behind the counter that was taking our money. She was amazing. Laughed had a good time and smiled. I think they need to have somebody there that actually does supervising other than all these people doing what they want because of the health department's notified that you're shoving hands inside people's food. That would not be...
Read moreI worked at the Keene location for 3 weeks until I walked out. I was working with another employee in the back when we witnessed Gabi the manager pull out a huge piece of meat out of the already full trash put it on the disgusting sink then wrap it and put it in the walkin to reuse. The following day the employee I was working with went in and threw it back out. I was forced to use rotten brown lettuce in the back for online orders. The young kids that work there help themselves to the bacon with no gloves on. The pans that the bread is on in the front of the store was never washed while I was there. They let one of their employees come in early before opening and he helps himself to the steak and makes his own steak grinder. Everyone uses the register so no one knows who steals money out of it. One of the younger kids one day in front of customers took bread and made it look like it was talking saying time to make the grinders. I've seen rotten tomatoes be used as well on grinders. state laws says 5 hours you are entitled to a half hour lunch break that does not happen I worked 7 hours one day without a lunch when asked to go i was told no that i had to wait. They treat people like they don't know what...
Read moreBeen by a lot of Jersey Mike's stores in my travels and never stopped in, thinking it would be just be typical fast food junk. Visiting family in Keene this week and decided to finally give this place a try.
I can't believe I've never stopped in one of these stores! I had an original Italian sandwich and it was an amazingly delicious sandwich, definitely the best chain sandwich I've ever had and pretty close to being better than some local places. Super fresh ingredients, meats sliced right as they make your sandwich, really fresh bread - they know how to make an amazing sandwich.
The staff was friendly, great suggestions and patiently explained what "Mike's way" is and why it's a great place to start for my first sandwich there.
The place was clean, employees friendly and outgoing, lots of people there for mid-afternoon on New Year's Eve! Others mentioned that they found this place to be expensive, but I didn't see a whole lot of difference in cost with other sandwich places. For what I got, it was better priced than Subway (which is way inferior).
I'll definitely be back next time...
