Bayside Grille — Restaurant in Kemah

My husband and I went on a staycation in Kemah and stayed at the Boardwalk Inn! I was so excited, because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE beignets and remembered that the Bayside Grille makes them! We got up early Saturday morning, went downstairs to grab a quick bite, walked into the Grille and we weren't greeted! We didn't walk away immediately, but after standing at the counter for at least 5 minutes, still no greeting, acknowledgement or anything we decided to leave! I mean afterall, they could have at least said hello cat and dog, welcome someone will be with you soon... they said nothing. Of course the food there is inexpensive BUT customer service should still be guaranteed! Now, we spent a pretty penny to stay at the Inn and just knew that the service at the grille would match the service we received at the attached hotel. Sadly to say, it did NOT. We politely went to the Cadillac Bar and were not only immediately greeted, but felt as if we were welcome there! My hopes are that the management would strongly consider these reviews from previous customers and rectify...

Since the Boardwalk is considered upscale, the breakfast we ate there was some of the worse ever. I had the Florentine Quiche and my husband had the breakfast burrito. The server, Megan, brought out the burrito and my slice of quiche did not come out for five more minutes. The quiche was dry and flavorless. It had the texture of leather. I guess it was microwaved too long. I did not finish it. If I had, I probably would have spent the next hour picking it out of my teeth....it was that bad. The staff was nice but we ordered the pancake platter and got 3 frozen pancakes that he popped in the microwave . Something I paid $29 for i could of gotten at McDonald's for 4$ . And then we got plastic plates with plastic utensils. If this is what your going to serve to the guests of the boardwalk inn then you should really cut your prices down 3 times what they are now ! I was so disgusted this is our last morning so we woke up early for a good breakfast and really got 3 pancakes no bigger than my palm all rubbery and warm because they were from a box from...
