Just when you thought the Boardwalk was the reason why you visit Kemah........
Honestly, you would never expect to find the type of food and how amazing it taste just looking at the outside of this place.
In fact, the very first time I went was only because the other places we went to eat at were packed and we were really hungry. Fortunately for me, I was staying at the hotel on the Boardwalk and this place just happens to be right down the road.
My first impression when we got in was that this was just a bar with people who were there to drink and have fun. The atmosphere was very lively and it was really a great place to kick back and have a few drinks.
I asked for a menu, expecting to see your typical "bar" menu of a few different appetizers.
However, I was truly impressed just looking at the menu and the atypical variety of food they had.
Everything looked good (probably bc we were all really hungry) so we ordered just about one of everything on the menu!
The staff was great and it was nice to have a drink while we waited for our food.
If you take anything else away from this review, this is the most important (IMO). The food was absolutely incredible! Don't rob yourself of the chance to experience this for yourself.
Don't be so quick to judge it, like I did, by thinking that it's just a bar and there is no way you can get the quality and variety of food from this place.
Luckily for me, I only live about two hours from Kemah and it's well worth the trip out there just to eat and have...
Read moreThe fact that dogs are no longer allowed inside is genuinely heartbreaking. This was one of the few spots in the area where my dog Zelda who is as much a regular as myself can be comfortable and greeted with fantastic staff. Unfortunately the change is from a bad review (which that person have never given anything above a 1 star review (Who is Walinda)). I am very disappointed in the discrimination towards dogs (Zelda is a registered service animal as well). Additionally I am a local and very much involved in the community down here in Kemah. I would say I am on the pulse of the community and regularly bring in new customers to this establishment. My hand may be forced to enjoy great food and drinks as well as fantastic bar staff elsewhere if I can not have my dog somewhere she is comfortable. I really hope and pray this ban on dogs is lifted for the sake of our beloved animals who have no foul intentions. It seems to me outside factors (people) seem to be the ones with bad intentions in this scenario. All I beg is we don’t start to allow the voice of one disgruntled customer to dictate the environment and policies previously accepted by so many valued and...
Read moreWe were driving by Kemah and decided to stop by for a beer. We walked around the various bars in the area, and most of them were very empty, probably because it was still early (around 630p) on a Saturday night. But when we walked past this place, it was buzzing. There were 3 or 4 small groups in their outdoor terrace, and you could feel the energy. Music was playing but not getting much in the way of conversation, so it was a nice atmosphere. We went inside to grab a beer. The bartender was busy, and when we asked about their IPA beers, she said we should look at the board. The electronic beer menu was flipping fast, so I could not quite go through one page before it got changed. We saw one we wanted to try, but after she walked back to the tap, she returned and let us know they were out. We finally got one we liked after a second try. We then walked out to the patio where the atmosphere was a bit more fun.
Of the places in the three blocks we walked, this seemed the most fun. If it was not for the electronic beer menu changing on me, I would...
