Now, let's dive into the star of the show – the "Big Shorty's Cheeseburger." Brace yourself for a flavor explosion that will have you coming back for more. This burger is a masterpiece of culinary artistry, with a perfectly grilled patty that's juicy and flavorful, complemented by the gooey perfection of melted cheese. Each bite tells a story of craftsmanship and attention to detail, making it a burger that's simply unforgettable.

However, it's not just the extraordinary dishes that make Shorty's Bar-B-Q exceptional; it's the impeccable service that elevates the experience to new heights. Our waitress, Lily, stood out with her genuine warmth and professionalism. Her passion for ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional shone through in every interaction. There is no secret BBQ food takes a length a time to cook properly. So when it comes to BBQ few things make the customer happy. Good taste, food is hot served quickly (because its already cooked), and the biggest contributing cause to a great meal is customer service. It has been a long week for me so to come in at 10:20pm as the restaurant is about to close was a gamble I was taking. Usually at closing time the food is being stored, employees are aggravated and want to go home, it is usually a disaster.

I tell you what readers: yup.. it was going to be a disaster because as I walked in, most of the workers were all sitting around talking to each other, a huge wealth of them were prepping to close, i mean lets be honest it is near closing time, can't really blame them.

But one soul changed the entire course of my visit! (Corporate, take note) A waitress by the name of Ely dropped what she was doing and tendered to me. Let me rephrase this A YOUNG individual stopped what they were doing and allowed me to place my order swiftly. Didn't sit back to continue their conversations, or act like they are too busy to give customer service.

The manager (sorry sir, didnt grab your name) brought the food out!!!!! Again, corporate take note, you have som fairly amazing employees.

The food was spot on, not too soggy for pulled pork, corn was steaming hot. Fries were crisp and you can tell the oil is changed recently.

A+ Shorty's of Bird Road, A+

(Little did anyone know that an individual whom reviews a lot and sees close to 6.3Million viewers per week for would walk in near closing time)

Great Job Ms. Ely and Mr. Manager

So readers, if you want great service, i hope you run into both of these champs, and more-so, I hope the other staff members look up to these individuals. Makes the food go from...

A bit unprofessional. Saturday early afternoon, they were playing Doja Cat and other inappropriate artists with the cussing included. I don't usually care, but when I come to places like this, I'm going for the theme.... which should be country/western/etc. Seemed super out of place and gave a weird vibe.

Sauce problem. I go to Shortys for the BBQ sauce, the one on the table is the best part. When we sat down, I tried a bit of sauce on my finger. It was perfect, but then we switched tables by the window and I tried it again on my finger from this other bottle and it was bad! The consistency was watery and the flavor was watered down. Obviously a waiter had tampered with it because he was too lazy to refill it properly at night, and surely just filled up some sauces with water thinking no one would notice. WE DO. My boyfriend tried it too and he tasted a huge difference as well with the BBQ AND the hot sauce one.

We switched the sauces with another table and it was still inconsistent. Didn't have the normal Shortys taste and consistency. Then we grabbed the sauces from our original table far away because we couldn't trust the likelihood of how lucky we'll be to switch with another set of proper sauces.

If I hadn't tasted the first perfect sauce, I would've just assumed Shortys changed their recipe and I'd never be back again. Now I know it's just this location I could never trust.

Also the waiter with the long hair gave a little attitude when we asked to switch tables. We won't be back and I'll always recommend the dadeland location in favor of this place if anyone...

Growing up in Miami, Shorty’s BBQ was a restaurant I would frequent with my family at least once a month. I hadn’t been back in years and getting to visit now was truly a full circle moment! This spot is a staple that has been around since 1951 and they have three locations throughout South Florida. I visited the West Miami location and I just was so happy to be there for the nostalgia, the great food, and the incredible value! You definitely want to come for the ribs but stay for their incredible super buttery corn on the cob. You can’t go wrong with anything you get here but the ribs, corn, and key lime pie are the things you absolutely have to try! All in all thank you so much to Shorty’s for having me back after all these years and for the wonderful trip down memory lane ❤️ #foodie #miamifoodie #orlandofoodie @ShortysBarBQ

So decided to give Shortys another try after more than 10 years hoping they learned "or want" to serve proper beef brisket. Little did I know that I would be disappointed yet again... All I can say is that if I had a BBQ joint, I would ashamed to serve what they are serving as brisket. I ordered a 1lb brisket and it was dull flavorless meat that tasted as if it had been boiled in water and then sprinkled with salt and pepper. No smoke flavor, no penetration of spices or smokiness at all... I really wished the owners or the general managers of Shortys went to Famous Dave's or Shivers BBQ and ate brisket so that they can compare with what they are selling. And... Famous Dave's is a chain restaurant and probably just reheats their stuff but it is still very good. Shivers is probably fresh locally made but their are both just as good, very juicy and tasty with multiple layers of taste and plenty of that tangy smokiness. I am attaching 3 pictures... You be the judge... Which one looks the least appetizing...? I also had BB ribs but will not bash them with those but they could use more smoke flavor... Come on Shorty's after so many years of serving your comunity you should know and do better...

Our next family food adventure take us to Shorty's Bar-B-Q located in Miami with a category of 4.2 and more than 2,038 reviews, this restaurant specializes in barbecue. One History and Tradition: Tracing the Roots: Barbecue's history spans centuries, originating from indigenous cooking methods and evolving through various cultures. Regional Styles: Each region has developed its distinct barbecue style, from Texas brisket and Kansas City ribs to North Carolina pulled pork and Memphis dry-rubbed ribs. Cultural Significance: Barbecue plays a significant role in American culture, bringing people together for gatherings and celebrations. At Shorty' s they have maintained the original recipe since its inauguration in 1951, I went with my family at dinner time. The experience was good, the waiter was very friendly and was very helpful when choosing from the menu. The place has a very Texan Western-style design. The only thing I didn't like was that it was too dark. The food was delicious and exquisite. The ribs fell off the bone smoothly. A constructive advice should make a renovation because the competition in kind of cuisine style is already at another level.
