Sadly, I will not be returning to this specific Sports Grill. Their prices for certain items are out of control. As I understand it, these Sports Grill's are individually owned by varying owners. We frequent the one on 97th Avenue just south of Kendall. Their prices are more reasonable and the food quality is better. The buffalo shrimp appetizer is 21.99 on the menu. What they don't show on the menu is that there is a cheaper half size option. When the order came, each shrimp still had it's ventral cord on it which was gross. The chili was watered down and almost flavorless. This was our favorite Sports Grill for years and we began to gravitate to the one on 97th avenue due to poor quality. However, we decided to give it another shot yesterday. The place was empty, except for 2 other tables and the service was also sub par.
Additional comments for the response provided: I am not sure who replied, claiming they know me or has known me for 16 years. I myself have no clue who the owners are but given it is a small world we live in, perhaps it is possible I know one of them. I wish you would have included your name for reference but that's ok. Unfortunately, I did not happen to take a picture of the shrimp but I will return in the next few weeks, order the same item, and see if it were to happen again. At that point, I will gladly take some pictures for you and post here. In regards to the chili, it did taste watered down or perhaps the correct term should have been a bit flavorless. IMO, that equates to it being watered down as it was not as thick as it has been in the past. And I know your chili as it was a big staple for my Atkins diet many years ago. As for the staff comment you made, I do have compassion for them. Good or bad service, I always tip no less than 20%. When the service is exceptional, I tip closer to 30%. I have sincere compassion for those in the service industry and the things they have to endure, from everyone (customers and managers) they encounter. One final note, I understand your response in reference to the menu but come on, you are going to state that in 16 years, that menu has not changed, ONCE? Menu's get updated all the time as prices also change. The point I was trying to make is that if a customer comes in, asks about the buffalo shrimp appetizer to confirm the price, then the price is confirmed, at that point, the cheaper option should be offered. I think it is good customer service to have the half options listed on the menu's. That's just my opinion as a consumer. Read moreThe customer service at this place was dreadful. My friend and I wanted to order out and were directed towards the bar. Once we got there the woman behind the bar, who I unfortunately did not catch her name, was rude from start to finish. She handed us menus and gave us time to look it over. However, she never came back to us, choosing to attend other customers that had come after us. When she finally did come to us she just asked us if we were ready and walked away to get another server to take our order. Keep in mind she had taken everyone else's order at the bar. The server that came to us was really delightful and I have no complaints about him. I left to go study at Starbucks as they said the order would take about 45 minutes. When we returned we were given our food by one of the other servers and he quickly handed us our bill. However, he had walked away to keep attending his tables and now again we were left with the lady at the bar. It took forever to get her attention so we could hand her our cards and equally as long for her to process our payments as she chose to do everything but attend us. I mean honestly how long does it take to process our order? For the men at the bar, not long at all. After all that we finally got our cards back and were able to head off and eat our meals. Unfortunately I wasn't prudent enough to check my order. I got the ball park dawg and asked for grilled onions and provolone. According to the menu, it comes with chopped onions, relish, and cheese if asked. All mine came with was cheese. So on top of the horrible customer service and long wait time, my order was wrong. While my friend who ordered a tuna salad got her correct order, it had rather large celery and onion chunks that overtook the rest of the ingredients in the salad. Read moreThis review is purely based on the inconvenience and poor quality of the customer service from this establishment, realizing that Google hosts a fairly high rating for this restaurant and drives their business. I called to order 25 wings and was under the premise that the price I would be paying was the price on the menu page listed via Google, on the BUSINESS PROFILE for this place. When I got to the restaurant, they mentioned that the prices had since gone up and they would not honor the prices on this menu from Google, even though it houses all their informotion and promotes their business favorably. This was nearly a 15 dollar difference. So, I drove all the way home, bothered about this only to come and find out that they did not include the celery and bleau cheese and ranch sauce, called to complain, brought up the prices again solely based on the inconvenience at this point, they said they would call the owner and see if they could comp the difference between the prices advertised on the menu via google and their current prices but asked to drive in regardless as the celery and ranch would be on the house if I drove all the way back, 20 minutes drive each way, while my food got cold, to pick up these items and see if the owner would comp the difference... suffice to say, once I got back there, was told by the manager that they would not comp the difference as the prices are correct on their own website and they do not control their own business profile on Google. This is unacceptable service, they should have been reasonable. Will not be going back as the wings were mediocre and the service poor. Make sure you go to their website and not go by the menu on Google as their prices have gone up...
