Delicious as always, best quality soda I have ever had in a restaurant EVERY TIME, they keep those machines clean and fresh like I have never seen in my life.
Multigrain bread on grilled cheese was fantastic - delicious, not hard on the teeth, nothing weird in it just decadent texture and taste and the whole thing was grilled to perfection. I know grilled cheese is such a basic staple, but it is a defining litmus test as far as I'm concerned because in all honesty most restaurants struggle to make it anything beyond the bare minimum of palatable and often fail even that. The grilled cheese at this Denny's ranks up there with some of the best I've ever had, and it is consistently that good every time. Only possible improvement would be a slightly stronger cheddar but on the whole: there are some talented ass cooks working this Denny's kitchen. Like, I hella hope they know just how knock out their skills are and what a rare gem they are among even the best folks working these kinds of chain joints.
Veg beef soup was also delicious - the pieces of beef are on the small side, but it's still really good. Only complaint is waitress didn't know the full set of veges in it and I had asked due to allergy concerns- there were surprise veges included she hadn't mentioned (she WAS up front about not knowing for sure but did seem unconcerned like as if people couldn't have veg allergies) - luckily nothing that was in it was dangerous for me and it was tasty, but there was a risk there.
I hope Denny's considers providing a thorough ingredients reference for their menu, if only just for their wait staff to be able to ref to it when customers with extensive allergies ask questions to keep themselves safe. Wasn't the waitress'a fault, she was awesome and considerate the entire time, and luckily the surprise ingredients were safe for me.
Absolutely perfect hash browns, again, cooked to peefection - companion hadeggs as well, and they were clearly cooked by a very skilled cook who can rock the basics better than most celebrity chef pros. Whoever was working the kitchen late morning today, they are as talented as you will ever find. It blows me away every time I visit how perfectly cooked my food is, to a genuinely rare degree. I've never had a dish at any of the area cafes, from Shari's to IHOP to Mitzels to area indie cafes and greasy spoon breakfast joints, that came close to the quality and genuine pure freaking skill whoever works the kitchen here has. I'm talking one in a million, totally on point, consistent and delicious every single time. They may be staple dishes, but the level of skill behind the counter here responsible for preparing them shows the subtle complexities that can make a basic staple dish prepped plain and straight still absolutely rise above.
They also do flavor drop shots for the soda so they literally have the best cherry or vanilla coke you could ask for, fornabsolute miles around. Can't rec this...
Read moreThis was a very weird experience. I placed an order on Grub Hub or Yelp to pick up, from a place called 'The Meltdown'. I put in address in my phone, and I was off to go pick it up. I drove around for around 5-10 min looking for this place, but couldn't find it. I recalled that some restaurants were making 'pop up' online restaurants. And there was clearly no The Meltdown nearby. I parked in the Denny's parking lot and pulled my order. Nowhere did it say that it was located at a Dennys. I looked at the storefront. Again, no where did it say The Meltdown, or serving food for the Meltdown. I went inside and told the hostess that I had ordered food for a place called the Meltdown and this was the address. And asked if this was the place. She promptly turned and went in the back to grab my food. I headed out, so confused. In the car, i looked at the bag. It had 'The Meltdown' branding and stickers. I opened the box just to check the actual food. Again trying to come to the conclusion that it must only be me that thinks this is weird. I open the box to find my sandwich, but no fries. I ordered the meal. Of course. I head back in and ask for the fries.
I can see the benefit of opening a 'pop up' shop online. But come on. There has to be SOMEWHERE that tells me, it's in the freaking DENNY'S! needless to say, will def not be ordering from 'The Meltdown' anymore. Or Denny's for that matter. And will be super sus of any restaurants I haven't heard of on Grubhub. I'll now need to vet restaurants before ordering. SMH.
The sandwich was ok. Something I probably would expect from Dennys. I def wouldn't have ordered if I had known it was from Denny's. The service was mediocre, from the undercover restaurant service and missing food. The real bad taste was the seemingly sneaky way to get an order from me, and not have the decency to tell me where to...
Read moreIf there was a way to give zero stars or even negative I would. I never leave reviews, but I made it a point to get on here and share the horrible experience that my family has experienced at this location. We have given up on having a decent dining experience after repeated chances to try different times and days and staff members. Turns out that perhaps it's the leadership at this location. Because no matter when you go, or what you order they just aren't capable of providing you with even passable customer service. This morning we tried to just order and come pick it up. Turns out they can't even accomplish this. My husband and I called to order omelets. We both spoke to the lady and completed our order. We were told that our food would be ready in 20 minutes. She took a name and a phone number. My husband drives all the way there from our house, no order. They can't find it anywhere. I called the number back that had called earlier to make sure I didn't actually call a different store. But no, they actually do suck that bad. They lost it. So we start over, place our order again with a gentleman. We had to repeat SEVERAL TIMES what we wanted. I was so angry and frustrated I wanted to just give up. When my husband got back home with the food after an hour, our omelets weren't even what we ordered. He took the food back and got a refund. Never ever giving them another chance. During these very trying times, you could spend your hard earned money anywhere. We chose to spend it there. Our mistake can be a blessing to you. Don't spend a dime at this location! They are incompetent and have no clue how to...
