Great place we drove down from the Renton Highlands. We had previously tried while in the area and loved it a while back. Today was a record heat day and we decided to make the trek down to enjoy the air-conditioning and cider/beer on tap. The burgers are delicious, I know they don't have a crazy large menu but I think it helps keep the focus on the remaining selection. The beef patties are cooked just right not overdone and for my selection the bacon was good quality thick, and seasoned just right. My so had the Benedict version which was juicy and the hollandaise sauce creamy and rich. We also got the fancier fry with the fried egg and the yolk was cooked just right for the yolk to run over the fries and mix with the hollandaise sauce and caramelized onions. It's definitely not diet friendly but they do offer some arugula salads instead of your run of the mill iceberg lettuce you get elsewhere. I'll be trying the salad next time. Price for quality is there I understand it's not some $7 lunch special kind of place so paying $10 for burger without extras outside of the selection (like bacon, caramelized onions base) is not bad at all. Yes that price doesn't include fries but me and my partner just share the morning after fries which I think is the best bang for the buck side wise. It adds up if you add on extra toppings which is normal for most businesses. I don't do the add ons as it's all rich enough already. As for the taps plenty of selection for both beer and cider lovers. You can order with your food/alcohol at the tap screen(self service). Alcohol can be ordered separately with a tap card set up linked to your payment card. Honestly it's an introverts dream! I also don't have to wave someone down at a bar for a refill I can just go up and pay per the ounce I want, which is great for sampling if I'm not quite sure I want a whole glass. If your expecting to be waited on adjust your expectations, I love this way of serving customers. There's someone to help guide you if it's your first time however. When we were there was plenty of seating to space out and the food was done quickly in about 10-12 minutes from ordering. We like to view the menu online on the drive down, so when we arrive we knew exactly what to order food wise. We then dilly dalled on our beer selection while our food was being prepared. For the ladies the restroom is clean with three stalls available. Plenty of seating for a group of friends or large party as well. Board games available to play while hanging out drinking as well. Parking is easy to find. I've been here twice and haven't had a bad experience, but it's also been not busy to moderately busyness.I hope they do well and open more locations up towards...
Read moreI'm in Kent 1-3 times a week for half the year to have dinner and drinks before Thunderbirds games, and was excited to have another option for food and beverage in Kent!
Too bad my first and only visit was a total disaster.
The place feels nice and modern, there is lots of space at large tables. Otherwise perfect for our regular group of 3-6 folks. This is where the good parts end.
My first clue things were going to go badly should have been when I noticed all the self serve taps still had their overnight plugs in. Note that the place opens at 8am, and it was 5ish, so over 8 hours without the beers being properly opened and flushed.
When we arrived there was one customer waiting with a growler after paying for it at self checkout, two customers at a table waiting for food after paying at self checkout and one person in the corner on their phone. They were all there an undetermined amount of time before I arrived.
One person in my group ordered food, the rest of us lined up to get prepaid cards for the beer taps. Many minutes passed without seeing an employee to assist the waiting customers.
There was a cook doing work, and when we got his attention for a moment to ask about getting help up front, he said it would be just a bit.
More minutes passed, by now a couple food boxes were waiting in the service window, and the person with the growler went to the employee sink to wash out her own growler in preparation for eventually receiving assistance.
Things then went sideways when one of the customers waiting at the table went behind the counter and started inquiring if the food sitting for minutes under the warming light this whole time was his food.
That's when the yelling started.
Upset customers, who said they'd been waiting for 15+ minutes by this point without ever seeing a front end employee, started arguing with the cook about the complete lack of contact or acknowledgement we were even there.
As the language and volume of yelling sharply escalated my group left before the situation got out of hand, and went to the bar down the street.
The one with us who payed for food never got it. I doubt the others there did as well, nor the person who paid for a growler fill.
If I could leave Zero Stars, I would.
Good luck convincing any one of the 5 of us to ever try this place again. It's a real shame cause good options are pretty slim as repeated visitors throughout the year, and it had the potential to be in our regular cycle every hockey season...
Read moreJust had egghole for the first time... and I'm not sure how to feel about it. I think its overall good but I just did it wrong.
Food: the flavors are great overall, for the most part, but boy is it messy, and adding a second meat is a MISTAKE! We ordered the Benedict sandwich and the sausage and egg sandwich, (but again, I added bacon, as I do with most places). The Benedict sandwich was delicious overall and while messy and greasy, did not turn sloppy. The only complaint here is the taste of the "fresh chives" that was supposedly in the hollandaise was lacking, didn't capture the taste of chives but the hollandaise was still FANTASTIC! The sausage and egg sandwich with bacon... and I never thought I'd ever say this about bacon, was too much! I was put off a bit by how much extra bacon cost to add to the sandwich, but I get it now, because you get a HUGE serving of bacon. 4 pieces of the largest thickest bacon I've ever had. It's amazing, and super greasy of course, but in addition to the hefty and delicious sausage patty, it was too much and turned into the sloppiest mess dripping grease egg yolk and sauce everywhere. My advice: don't add any second or extra meats to your sandwich, they're great and generous portions as is. The candied bacon was a miss for me, I've never had candied bacon with chili powder and it changed the flavor drastically in a way I didnt appreciate.
Price: the overall meal cost is on the higher end for breakfast sandwiches, but this falls under the "you-get-what-you-pay-for" rule, as they're hefty sandwiches. We ordered 2 bottled sodas, 2 breakfast sandwiches (one with added meat), a skinny fries and a candied bacon and it was about 40 bucks. In hindsight, I wouldn't even order fries unless absolutely starving let alone an additional item after that, the sammies alone are plenty.
Atmosphere: very open and modernized, clean atmosphere with big screens, board games and a nice selection of beers on tap that you self pour, although I feel like not having/serving mimosas is a missed opportunity.
Conclusion: This wouldn't be my new go-to or first choice for breakfast or breakfast sandwiches by any means, but I will definitely be back from time to time. More inclined to come here for a casual brunch meetup with friends and hang out than for a "normal" or to-go breakfast for myself or with my spouse.
P.S. dont eat in the car - you won't have...
