I live near this establishment and I've been by it dozens of times. It was my birthday, so I justified spending the money on a meal away from home. Leading off on the oddest foot; the building itself is very distinctly from another time and is somewhat dilapidated, but I found it charming enough to remember it as a fun destination. I give the atmosphere high marks for that, but it is not fine dining or even a comfy seat (it just might give some people a hit of nostalgia, like me). The Food was very nice, with large portions. It will hit the spot if you're tired of fast food burgers. The price is about what I would expect, and the way things are, may be competitive with the inflated prices that other chains charge for inferior products. I ordered the Bacon Cheese large burger and the Philly Super. I would say they went a little heavy on the cheese on the Philly (can't believe I said that), but it was still very enjoyable. The service was very kind and patient in taking our order, and gave us recommendations. I saw a few reviews saying otherwise, but they were very nice the day I was there. If you are ordering online, it may say that some things are out of stock, but double check with the staff. I was sad when I saw the milkshakes out of stock online, but was pleased when they said it...
Read moreThe restaurant itself is that "old fashioned looking drive in" building with covered carports on one side, and plenty of parking on the other side. Sorry, no ladies on roller-blades to take your order, you have to go inside and order at the counter. :). It is family owned, and usually dad is in the kitchen while the wife or sons take orders. During the summer months, you can sit outside for there are covered picnic benches outside. In the inside, it is a very small area where you do have counters to sit and eat. But then, you have to deal with people coming in and lining up to get their order placed. Point is, there's not enough space to really comfortably eat, especially if you have more than 2 people. This is mainly for taking your orders to go, especially when it is cold outside. Price wise, If you are comparing to places like Jack-In-The-Box or Mcdonald', of course this is more expensive. The meat is fresh (not frozen )and everything is grilled and fried to order. I think a good comparison as far as price is Herfy's Burger. I have never ordered milkshakes (I avoid dairy), but I have seen them mixed to order for other customers using real ice cream, with those old fashioned looking mixers. They look thick, hardy ...
Read moreFriendly staff. quick. clean. food is okay. I ordered 2 kids meals with hamburgers and fries for the kiddos. I had just an order of fries and an order of fried mushrooms. I loved the fries! you can totally just hit this place up for fries only with that dipping sauce (mayo&ketsup) and be good. The fried mushroom were not what I expected. The mushrooms I had here in the past were small deep fried & whole. These mushrooms actually looked like mushroom chips almost like the sliced mushrooms you would get from the grocery store . You know when you fry mushrooms they shrivel up so they looked weird Def did not taste like the last time I came. The kids burgers were flat, not impressed. I took a bite of my daughters burger and it really just okay, nothing spectacular. I have had a burger here that had a pineapple on it and it was really delicious . not sure what that burger was called but i think it was a teriyaki chicken burger with pineapple, def try that one. They are a little expensive . they have a bunch of stuff on the menu to try. I will give them another shot soon and try...
