Pho Lam — Restaurant in Kent

I came here for lunch with my son, I ordered vietnamese pancake which is a favorite of mine, meatball pho with extra meatballs and the fried chicken appetizer. 2 things that I noticed immediately The chicken was very pale, no seasoning not super crispy either. The ban xeo was HELLA SOGGY! why it be like that?? It came out in a really cute basket platter with fresh herbs but nothing and I mean nothing could make me overlook the soggy batter! It was so disappointing. I took 2 bites and I had to stop, they charge $17.99 and couldn't even prepare it right SMH.

When I brought it up to them 2 of the workers started arguing in front of me about it, I asked if I could just have a bowl of pho instead but they wanted to charge me for that also instead of just switching it. So I just paid for everything and decided to leave, then one of the workers held a phone out to me and wanted me to talk to the owner?!?!?! Wth is happening? I said no thank you and just paid and left. Such a odd experience, definitely not coming here again.

I would never lie about my experiences, I have nothing to gain by doing so, I was told by your staff they were not able to refund me because the only person who can is the owner. I would never exaggerate or fabricate for the sake of doing so, but thank you for replying to my review.

I just finished shopping at h.k. market right next to it and I wasn't even hungry but I just didn't want to go home to my family yet lol so I came in and ordered the combo rice plate with chicken and I freaking annihilated that plate. The side broth was hot and warmed me up, the chicken was grilled, and the shrimp cake was my favorite! I thought the shrimp cake was gonna be like a ramen style with the pink swirl in the center, but this was like a pocket stuffed with shrimp, then deep fried. It was delicious! Tried Pho Lam for the first time via Uber Eats (to-go order). Restaurant soup is difficult to pack as a to-go order for obvious reasons. My pho soup arrived hot and packaged well. It came with all of the typical fixings such as bean sprouts, mint leaves, a slice of lime, plus hot sauce and hoison. At first, I thought the noodle and meat portion was on the smaller side but the noodles separated and even though there could have been a few more pieces of meat (to make a better impression), the soup was tasty and I had no issues with the taste/flavor. It was good. I ordered a vermicelli plate (chicken), and it was also packaged well and I had no issues with the taste. It was alright. Overall, I would say that the food is tasty and it reminds me of home-cooked food. My order was typical of small business takeout local to Kent, WA. Just regular, edible food. I would probably not order take-out pho again... from any place. But, I will try to eat at Pho Lam in person if I want to have Vietnamese food anytime soon. I rated Pho Lam 4 stars for "I liked it". Ah, I can breath now. Over the last six months, my wife and are we're sad because the quality of food from our favorite pho restaurant has been declining due to new staff in the kitchen. We haven't found another Pho place that is good, meet our taste expectations. When stopped by Hong Kong Market to pick up some groceries and notice the name change at this pho place. I assumed a change in ownership or management took place. I am always opt to tryout new restaurants to see how they measure up. Bam! We hit a jackpot; we are no longer sad anymore. Surprisingly, this new place prepares pho just like our old favorite place used to prepare. The broth is clear but flavorable with being greasy. The soup comes out steaming hot and that is how you should eat it. The rice noodle were prepared perfectly, so it doesn't have that middle smell or mushy taste. We both ordered the combination and both are very satisfied with our dishes. The restroom is clean. The customer service is good. We love it and this will be our new favorite pho place.

I came back later and had Bun Bo Hue Ox Tail and it was really good. So...
