Weird duck has 3 wings and 1 leg I want to give “zero” stars but can’t. I order a roast duck for $30 plus tax and 2 pound of Barbecue pork. The roast pork for $20/ pound is too much a lot of places is just $13.50/ pound. They cut up the duck and put it in two separate containers. The cashier told me $65 but she didn’t ring anything on the cash register. I used to be a cashier at a Boba tea store before so I know something was fishy. I told her that I need a receipt for my order. She said sorry no receipt, out of paper. It’s okay I have time I can wait for you to refill the paper. Then I check my order, I took out the Barbecue pork. I don’t know why but the roast duck feels so light in the plastic bag. I have brought a lot of roast ducks in Seattle and other restaurants, the duck in the clear plastic to-go containers feels much more heavier than this. I took out the first container of half the duck and the bottom container of the other half duck was two wings. I showed the cashier, how come this duck has three wings and one leg. She said the guy cut it one of the legs into smaller pieces. When I was about to take my phone out to take pictures. The cashier grabbed the duck back, saying that I haven’t paid for the food and she told me that they don’t want to do my business. She told me to leave or she will called the police saying that I was trying to steal food. I told her go ahead, I’ll stay here and wait for the police, you have cameras here and there is a line of customers here that witness what happened. How about call the IRS too? Signs of scamming restaurants! No receipt or excuses of not able to give out a printed receipt. The cutting board is covered or out of sight (hint: they might exchange or take a good piece out of your order for their lunch) Too bad, I wasn’t fast enough to take a picture of the duck with 3 wings and 1 leg. Different to go containers. Why used 2 containers for one duck? Doesn’t seem to be environmentally friendly, 2 small rectangular aluminum container with clear plastic lid. Not microwave safe, oven heating needs a tray underneath to catch the grease dripping, and not reusable (it’s too small, not microwave safe, and too greasy to clean it) WHY?? The fear of comparison, I think they used smaller ducks and if put in the same clear plastic to-go container like all Asian restaurants, customers can really tell the difference.
I really want to see how the owner is going to respond to...
Read moreI found Megastar from a local Seattle foodie. When I walked in the restaurant was empty, the window was lined with fresh whole duck, chicken and almost whole roasted pig.
I ordered two combos both with roast pork and roast duck. The butcher came over promptly to chop the meats. The cashier made my take out containers filled with white rice and simple sautéed cabbage . The butcher then placed my cut meats on top of the cabbage and spooned some duck fat sauce on top of my rice. I also ordered two scallion oils.
The cabbage, such an underrated vegetable. Sautéed just enough that it was tender but not mushy. A nice cleanser paired with fatty juicy meats. The juices from the meats flavored the cabbage just to give it an additional flavor.
This is a great deal for your money. I believe it was $16 for the two bbq meat combo. Once I had placed my order the restaurant started to get really busy, people lining up already.
The roast pork was juicy and fatty, yet the skin was nice and crispy. Very scrumptious. My favorite. The duck oozing with juicy flavors. Fatty and meaty. My second favorite. The scallion ginger oil compliments both meat well. Gives the meats an additional dimension of flavor , cutting through the...
Read moreI take the train from Kent station almpay every day from work, and I finally succumbed to the magnetic aromas drifting from Megastar BBQ. Imagine a small, family run Chinese restaurant with Panda prices and P.F. Chang quality. I ordered the Mongolian Beef which was an absolute delight despite the cramp I developed in my left hand from infrequent, and possibly incorrec chopstick use. My tender beef dish was glazed in a savory sauce and accompanied with green onions, red peppers and those crunchy noodles underneath. I ate the whole thing and it was a very generous portion. My only complaint is that their drinks come in cans, which wouldn't be so bad except throughout my entire meal no one checked in on me for a refill. I understand there were three, maybe four people on hand to deal with cooking and serving, but I got pretty thirsty. But, the food made up for it. Go here....
