YUM!! The Kneadery is a quaint, charming restaurant serving breakfast and lunch in the heart of Ketchum. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and agreed it was some of the best we had in the area! We began with fresh coffee ($3.75 for unlimited refills), which is restaurant’s special breakfast blend. It’s rich, bold with a hint of chocolate. With a little cream and sugar, I enjoyed it so much I probably had about three cups. For food, we bellied up to a half order of the aptly named “Famous Kneadery Benedict” (poached eggs with sliced Canadian bacon on a grilled Thomas’ English muffin, generously topped with special homemade hollandaise sauce. Served with golden hash browns & choice of toast, $11.75 [$14.75 for a full order]). The entire spread slapped - the hollandaise was delishhh! Buttery, tangy and velvety goodness that intensified the dish’s overall delivery. It’s no wonder why this dish is so popular! We also ordered the “Ultimate Belgian Waffle” ($10.75) with 4 slices of thick-cut bacon (+$5.50) and 2 eggs scrambled (+$2.25 each). Lord, the waffle was perfectly golden and fluffffffyyy! The bacon was fantastic! - it really was the thick, juicy kind that’s actually worth a damn. I found prices to be very reasonable, considering the atmosphere of the entire town. The entire bill before the tip was only ~$41.00. For two very hungry tummies that are used to paying $80+ for a full sized meal in these parts, this is one hell of a steal. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant. The breakfast is I’ll love to come to try their lunch menu! Totally recommend!

The Kneadery is a classic Ketchum joint. It’s kitsch to the dictionary definition. Super cute. A few things made me not excited to return… - we asked about making something dairy free and they told us EVERYTHING was made with a butter substitute, including toast… on one hand, happy it was dairy free, on the other hand… would prefer real butter on toast vs a cheap fake alternative - we waited a very long time between sitting and ordering and receiving drinks and food. We saw our drinks accumulate on a tray at the bar over 20 mins before they were brought to us. That is, we saw cocktails getting warm and teas getting cold while they waited for someone to bring them over to us. - we received some food inconsistencies. 2 people ordered the same eggs Benedict dish but one person received 1 egg on an English muffin half while the other received 2. We were charged the same for both. Super weird. - there was a sign on the table asking for us to not take more then 45 mins at our table. All in all, we waited 25 mins to order and another 25 to receive food… we are typically patient but being reminded to be in and out while dealing with long service intervals made us feel antsy.

This has to be one of the best breakfast places in the country. When you walk into this wilderness lodge, you feel like you've gone back in time to the pioneer days. The staff are extremely friendly and there to make sure your experience is perfect. The coffee, what tastes like freshly squeezed OJ, are excellent. There are great choices on menu everywhere, but you have to be curious or a local to know that two of the best items are off the menu. First, biscuits and gravy. I have traveled the country and I would give the Kneadery a strong second in the country. The biscuit is perfect, crusty golden outside, light and fluffy in the middle. The sausage gravy is excellent it's everything you want it to be. Why second, well Josie's in Kentucky has a special kick. The dishes we had were all great. The scrambled eggs were like little pillows. The sausage and bacon were excellent. If you're in Hailey, Kitchum, or Sun Valley, this breakfast isn't to be missed. We went back a second day.

The food and the waiters are top notch, but the management is subpar and is the reason for the 2 star review. We (an active military family) went on a Sunday for lunch and were told that they offered military discount. When I went to pay, both the female and male manager asked me what I ate (for the discount). I was in shock as this has never happened to me before (normally whoever offers the benefit just applies it to the whole tab), so I said that I had everything on my tab. Well, apparently they only wanted to offer said discount to the plate of people who show the ID, meaning that my children that have no ID and other military families are treated as less than deserving. Either offer the benefit or don't, but don't disrespect my family like they are less deserving than me; they have had to move whenever and wherever the military says so, they've had to carry on while parents are deployed and suffer in silence through things other children don't have to suffer. If you claim you support your military and you don't understand nor care about it when the above is explained to you (my wife later spoke to the male manager, who told her they reserve the right to choose who they give the military discount), you don't really support anyone but yourself. After going through this type of disrespect, my family and I will not support this...

Had the Fritata and sourdough toast. Both unremarkable. Fritata had little to no flavor. If I have to add ketchup to a meal the chef has failed. Not much sourdough flavor to the sourdough toast. Now, the Fritata and sourdough toast at Wild Bill's Bistro in Crouch, ID......awesome!! Addendum; received a response from.... "Response from the owner Thanks for your touching review. I don’t know how we’ve been in business for 47 years without your culinary insight. Maybe next time let us know your food is unsatisfactory so we can do something abou..."

The waitress did ask how our food was. I'd only had 2-3 bites at the time the waitress checked on us, as she should, and was hoping as I ate my way towards the center of the Fritata, it would improve. After that, no one else came to check on us. My wife's French Toast was "ok"..."not remarkable", she says. My daughter's Eggs Benedict....I heard no complaints. 2. I did inform the cashier, a young man, and he seemed unsure what to do or say. I moved on. It wasn't looking to make trouble nor be accused of anything. We left. 3. Don't blame the young cashier. You trained him. The blame falls entirely to you! Train your staff better. Your cooks better and you'll have a much higher rating. Yes, I know you're # 1 in Ketchum. I'm sure you deserve it. ...
