Wow, love that this placed moved here. Never heard of them before, first time I went in the line was out the door.
It's basically Italian Chipotle. Which isn't a bad thing! And unlike chipotle, they offer more than just "Burrito" or "Burrito without the shell". The titular "Piatas" they sell are pretty good, but its easy to make one that doesn't taste good. Resist the urge to put everything in it - you'll get something much better if you mix and match the right stuff! Such as the bean salad is served ice cold, which I found very jarring when paired with the hot or room-temp ingredients I had put with it.
What really won me over though was the pasta. Unlike Chipotle, the "bowl" option is served with Angel Hair pasta instead of just the ingredients by themselves. They give you a TON of pasta for the price, and its easy to make a very filling meal last for leftovers with their portions. You can also get salads, which I've not had yet but look wonderful (Romaine blend or spinach, you choose what goes in and they give plenty of salad-friendly options too). Some food is cooked-to-order so it might take longer to get through the line than Chipotle, such as the crispy chicken.
I also love that they have a small specialty menu that offer stuff you normally don't get in the assembly-line (such as crispy calamari piata, or meatball carbonara pasta). I hope they rotate these out on a monthly or seasonal basis, just to see what they cook up next.
Service was excellent. Everyone there looks like they enjoy their job and its always great to interact with, even when stress is high during busy hours. I don't know if they are just well paid or hired very selectively (or both!), but it shows.
Price is also excellent. Its slightly more than Chipotle (about 50c higher depending on what you get), but theres a wider selection and everything (pasta, piata, salad) follows the same flat pricing. I know with the pasta I get more than my money's worth. Salads are a MUCH better deal than Panera too, considering you can get a similar variety of ingredients at the same quality at a much less exorbitant price (though Panera is cheaper if you get a basic salad). Such as having a Salmon salad with everything you can imagine on it as much as you want (except the salmon itself) for around $8, or a chicken salad for $6.85 or so.
This has gotten way too long, I rarely review anything so I felt compelled to give a good one I guess. Honestly, I give it five or ten years before we start seeing Piata's everywhere around the country and not just in Ohio, like we've seen happen with Chipotle and Panera. I...
Read moreJust came from here where I waited AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES TO LEAVE WITH NO FOOD. I am beyond dissatisfied with this chain and how they've trained their staff to handle this entire situation. I'm past fuming and just fed up. I placed order for the "express pickup Lane" to be picked up at 12:15. I arrived at the express pickup Lane at 12:20 and waited in line behind TWO cars for 30 minutes. After about 35 minutes the first car pulled away and I chose to stay behind the second car. Two cars behind me then got fed up and went inside so I followed their lead and I went in as well. Not a single employee addressed me so I went up to the cashier who told me "oh I'm just a cashier and have no control over anything." I then asked him to find my ticket and make sure that they were preparing it. My ticket wasn't even in the line it was over to the side on a random table. I then asked to speak to his manager because I wanted a full refund but still wanted the food because I've wasted so much of my time there. After another 15 minutes he handed my ticket to a lady to get the refund (which she processed and I'm grateful for) and he said he would put the ticket back in the line to be made. I waited another 10 minutes to find out that they never even put my ticket back in the line. I left after wasting an hour and fifteen minutes of my time with no food. I drove 2 minutes down the road the Chick-fil-A, placed my order, got through a full drive thru line within 10 minutes. Just ridiculous. So so disappointed. I've had some pretty bad experiences with this chain not making my order correctly or waiting a small amount of time but this just takes the cake and I'm so over it. I will never be dining at...
Read moreOver the weekend a friend treated us to dinner from Piada. She ordered thru Door Dash. Piada doesn’t have much as far as selection and or suggestions or substitutions on their items. So we called to ask if we could substitute one sauce for another on one of the pasta bowls. I spoke to “Chef” Amanda and asked her if we could switch the diavalo sauce to marinara and instead of regular tomatoes, have the sundried ones. She said, after a long pause, since it wasn’t busy at the time we called she would do it THIS time and that’s it as they don’t take special requests normally. She also said she would make a note and be up front when the doordash order came thru. Which was literally seconds later.. when we got the food which came a half hour earlier then we chose (doordashs fault I’m assuming).. the pasta bowl that we had the special substitution request for was completely wrong. We got a bowl of plain noodles, no sauce at all. Now if a note was made and she was upfront when the order came thru like she said she would be why would the order be completely 100% wrong.. so our friend called again and let them know that even tho she assured us it would be changed it was all messed up. Amanda had an attitude yet again and claimed she made the item herself that it must not have been put in the bag... so we got some random bowl of pasta with no sauce. I love Piada and will probably continue to order from there but I think attitudes should be a little different and less like we are a problem to you. Also maybe offer more or even a suggestion section...
