Train employees to portion consistently and cook food properly.
For the pros: the staff is kind and the restaurant is very comfortable. Seating doesn't make it too crowded and the line to get food is quick.
The cons: 1) there was dried sticky substance on women's restroom floor. This was in the handicapped stall and since I have loved ones who are fall risks, it was highly concerning.
portion control was completely inconsistent unless it was pre-portioned. Server with main entree served a grilled salmon portion so small to the person ahead of me they weren't charged for it (the person before them got a piece 2.5x larger). Got the roast beef myself and half of it was cut as thin as paper, the other half was cut 1/2 inch thick. The server trimmed off all the skin so about 1/8th of the food was wasted. Sides were either large or small or both plate to plate, with heaping blobs sometimes covering each other.
cook food properly please! Half of the parsley buttered potatoes (quarter cut roasted style) were raw, others were just barely cooked. Green beans were overcooked and mushy. Fish seemed cooked well and was warm. Meanwhile beef was cooked just to where fat was beginning to render and almost like a cold cut. Their coconut cream pie was the redeeming quality food wise.
prices did not reflect quality. I would say the food tasted better flavoring wise to mass chain buffets like golden corral, but Rob's Restaurant and Catering in Lewisburg is a place that serves similar grade food at a much cheaper price. $15-$18 for a two side entree with drink and a dessert can be had at a much higher quality restaurants with more controlled portion sizes and food made to order.
With the portion and cooking inconsistencies, I'd recommend going...
Read moreI had a very bad experience. I was in the restaurant in Kettering OH about a week ago I paid for my food using a $50.00 bill. I put my change on my tray and proceeded to look for a place to sit. I sat down and ate. I then got up to leave and got to the door and realized I had left over 20 some dollars on my try. I went back and got my money. I then went back last night to eat and was approached by an employee who yelled out real loud to me in front of all of the other customers I remember you you are the lady who took my tip off my tables. She continued to harasse me while I tried to eat. She told me not to bother going to the manager because she had already told him what she had said to me.I finally had to leave the restaurant without finishing my food. The manager never once came out to my assistance all the time I as being harassed. An assistant manager however did tell me when I was leaving what happen was uncalled for and the next time my food was on them like I would ever go back there. Warring to all who eats at MCL make sure you put you money right away in you purse an wallet to keep from being excused of taking tips...
Read moreIt's was like I remembered from the Salem Mall MCL location back in the days when I was a kid growing up in Dayton. Clean surroundings and familiar smells. I felt as though I was about to get on a ride at Kings Island. The first thing you do is step up to the front of the line and grabb your napkin wrapped silverware, then I placed my plastic cafeteria food tray on the stainless steel support rails and away you go into "Food-Ville! " I was immediately transported back in time. As we slid past the windows of various steamy comfort foods I found myself overwhelmed at all of the yummy starters. The awaiting staff quickly snap you back on track to place your order and glide you along. It takes discipline to not let your eyes eat more than your stomach can handle. It's like sliding past a Thanksgiving Dinner table of heavenly food that your relatives love to serve you. The process was so familiar, the food was comforting, warm and soft. The staff are very attentive, professional and friendly. Went there for my Mother's 80th Birthday party. Perfect atmosphere...
